  1. Loved it.

MLS is average league, but its ours. Supporters make this league what it is 100%… without us the league folds. Go Timbers Army and all supporters groups that create the atmosphere uncomparable to other North American sports.

See you when you visit Toronto… for your arse kicking.

  2. I think that the mayor already had Fred and Carrie write a song for Portland. One word of warning – please don’t make it like Seattle

  3. “Where ordinary people like yourself…”
Really? Who’s writing these things? A 4th grader? As a professional video editor and former English teacher, this almost made me vomit.

  4. I saw some empty seats there Timbas! Of course I’m a Sounders fan so I’m bias. Good to have you in the league of men instead of boys so put your flowers away! 😉

  5. As a Timbers fan this video means a lot to me. I don’t care what anyone else thinks. However, this is our week. Similar I think to the Union, a lot of people did a lot of work to get us in this incredible position.

  6. Well said DCUPedro and this is coming from a Union fan. Who cares whether the video was copied or that some fans are full of their own self-importance. It’s their club and they should be able to support the way they want. We are all trying to build something here and I can’t knock Portland’s or any other Supporters Groups hustle. If what they are doing means that some kid here or in Argentina, Russia or even England sees what’s going on here and gets Mom and Dad to buy a jersey or better yet Mom or Dad become a die hard MLS team fan then all the hard work we are putting in now was worth it. Right…

  7. Huh, as a Barra Brava member, I dont get where youre coming from here. Humility has nothing to do with being in a supporters group. Your whole job is to act like the soccer universe begins and ends with your club, and your SG.

I wouldnt want or expect it to be any other way.

  8. MLS is fond of over hyping games. Frankly I don’t buy into it. I only look forward to seeing a good match on the pitch.

  9. Portland is on the top of my list of cities I’ve never visited that I want to visit. This just adds to that desire.

  10. False. I may not like the timbers but my comments are hardly that of a troll. If you have something to look over the comments and my history, you’ll see I’m not a troll.

  12. Apparently MLS feels they need the Timbers and the rest of Cascadia to carry your sorry carcasses. Sorry couldn’t resist 🙂

I can’t believe MLS is really pushing the Cascadia rivalry, I hope it doesn’t try and cram it down your throats more than it already has.

MLS let the rivalry speak for itself after the games have been played!

  13. Wow, it has the simultaneous effect of making me both admire their club/their supporters AND hate them already. That video is clearly awesome and it’s going to be an excellent tradition. And yet I sincerely look forward to seeing them get smeared all over the pitch. Don’t know why that is, I just do. Probably the mark of a truly effective video– rally your troops and vaguely piss off everyone else.
Screw the Timbers! Who needs those self-righteous bastards anyway?

  14. I’d say it’s less plagiarism and more inspiration. The introductory bits of text are the same and then it diverges so as to be specific to Portland. But that being said, it was a bit too schmaltzy for me and I’m a Timbers supporter.

  15. Plagiarism?

    a) they credit the original as inspiration

    b) while some of it is similar the vast majority of it is different.

    Inspiration/adaptation is not plagiarism.

  16. Please repeat that to the Sounders supporters who are still doing the same 6 chants they stole from the TA 2 years ago and the Chicago supporters who stole a ton of chants to supplement the only one they seemed to know when they came out for a visit. “Fire, fire, fire, fire, fire,” over and over again.

  17. Must see power point presentation. ugh.

(SBI-Daniel=Timbers hater. Not a guess, your track record of comments makes it pretty obvious. Trolls don’t last long around here.)

  18. Thanks for the love Ives but this is not a commercial it was made by a few folks in the Timbers Army, as a tribute to our club we love so much

  19. Cool commercial, but MAN the music was schmaltzy. The Timbers need one of those great Portland bands, like The Decemberists or The Thermals or somebody like that, to write them an anthem.
