  1. I’m sure AC Milan will ne paying attention to this match as they have expressed interest (along with quite a few other clubs) in acquiring Rossi. Of course, Onyewu is still on the books ay ACM and a good showing will have them looking to NOT sell him this year.

But I’m curious as to what Gooch wants. He been reunited with his old Standard Liege coach Prudhomme and to great effect, and in a league that is a step up from Belgium and one he appears to excel in. Given all the polemics and drama that unfolds at AC Milan, going to a top echelon Eredevise club on a permanent basis and starting regularly, seems to be a better deal than he had at Milan.

  2. Porto is going to be tough only 1 loss the entire season in the 2nd round of the Europa league to Sevilla. Undefeated in Liga play.

  3. I’d say it’s headed to a Benfica-Villareal final — but Dynamo could give the Yellow Submarine a run for the money, and you don’t want to make Hulk angry.

  4. Hey Ives, you mentioned a few days ago that the word was that Timothy Chandler wouldn’t be able to obtain the proper documentation to warrant a call-up for the friendlies. Now BB calls him up, which suggests he might have a passport (and why wouldn’t he, if his father were American…). What’s the situation?

(SBI-From what I understand since he was born in Germany he would have to actually declare to play for the United States and fill with FIFA. The call-up doesn’t mean he’s done that. You can be called up and train without actually being cleared to play, but the call-up could also mean he did get his necessary documents sorted out. We’ll find out next week if he actually dresses and plays. Either way, the fact that he’s coming is a good sign that he’s serious about playing for the USMNT.)
