Jozy Altidore and Bursaspor suffered a demoralizing defeat on Friday, but Altidore still likely received a boost in confidence as he scored his first goal for the club.
Just minutes after receiving a yellow card, Altidore opened the scoring in Bursaspor's 3-2 defeat to Antalyaspor with a headed finish that soared into the far post. The goal was Altidore's first since the U.S. national team's 2-2 draw against Poland last October.
Here's Altidore's goal and his fired up celebration:
What do you think of Altidore's goal? Impressed? Think the goals will start coming in bunches for him now?

never liked him and never will, he represents whats bad about US soccer, the U20’s proved the point again.
One swallow doesn’t make a summer
It is funny how people hate on Jozy, but when he scores haters wanna be like I knew Jozy could do it. LOL hilarious.
Bro grow up please.
He’s just waiting for his buddy Davies to get back in the lineup to give em the ole 1-2. Nice goal.
This was supposed to go to Tony in quakeland
You’re a moron. Jozy was born in New Jersey.
I really hope he didn’t get the joke.
100% correct. This needs to be stickied to the top of the comments on every Jozy related post.
“we’re all standing behind you”
Waiting to push you off a cliff as soon as the next big thing comes along.
I think that any forward that hasn’t scored since last October has a serious problem
People love to talk about Drogba and how badly he started as if that tells us something about US late bloomers but this is a little bit of a misconception.
Where he’s from most guys get started in their early teens and by the time they are 16 or so their path is pretty clear.
Drogba’s start in Europe was delayed because of problems settling in(family issues) and then injury. So he really did not get going until he signed his first pro contract at the age of 21.
After that he things went pretty quick.
While he is not yet ( and may never be) in Drogba’s class, Altidore is,by a very long margin, the most accomplished US forward available. As others have pointed out, in Europe especially, people look at his impressive physique and assume he should play like Brian McBride. But he’s not really that kind of player; nor is he Brian Ching.
Jozy has been asked ( almost forced) to turn himself into a target player for the US, in my view largely because there have been no other US forwards available. I believe Ching was left off the World Cup team because they were convinced he wouldn’t be able to hold up physically.
Buddle is not as versatile and accomplished and does not fit into the US team as well as Jozy does. If he doesn’t score he doesn’t really do anything else, while Jozy is an incredible workhorse. Anyone who calls him lazy really doesn’t watch him carefully.
Gomez has possibilities but he came very late onto the scene and, post World Cup , has been in a slump.
If this goal provides him with the boost he needs, there is no reason to assume Jozy won’t get better. Even more important, more US forwards (JA, Teal) are coming into the picture and the US may now be able to play in a way that suits Jozy’s talents better.
Agree
LULZ
Seems to have helped his ‘development’.
dear god
Did you hear that on Ives’ April Fools Day post?
Give him credit, that was a quality goal, more of a Dempsey type score than what Jozy usually manages.
Maybe the kid is practicing/learning….hope so!
First, it is simply interesting. Not claiming anything else.
That said, few guys stay with one time. Zidane, Henry, Ronaldo, David Villa to name a few have played for three or more clubs. So it is hardly a sign the guy isn’t a good player. And finally, considering the number of guys who go over, get a chance with one club and come back home is pretty firckin’ long. It IS an accomplishment to have scored with three top flight leagues, even if it is more a matter of interesting trivia.
