CARSON, Calif. – The Columbus Crew  traveled to Sothern California in hopes of breaking a five-year winless streak against Chivas USA at the Home Depot Center. Ninety minutes of scoreless soccer later, the Crew still hadn't figured out how to beat the Rojiblancos.

Chivas USA didn't have much to celebrate, the draw kept the club winless on the season and head coach Robin Fraser blamed the latest dropped points on his own team's start to the match.

“We didn’t come out with the right amount of energy,” admitted Fraser. “It felt like today we played like the team on the road.”

Both sides struggled to maintain a play and make something happen for the entire first half and majority of the second. The sides combined for just four shots on goals and no truly dangerous scoring chances.

“It’s a just a little bit disappointing, but I think it’s a lesson for our team as well, that we are a team that requires a good energetic start, a team that is going to rely on playing an up-tempo game.”

The action didn’t spawn until well into the 74th minute of play, when Crew midfielder Eddie Gaven broke away from a Chivas backline mistake and tested Dan Kennedy who made the diving save.

“I saw we had pressure behind [Gaven], so I know he felt like he had to get the shot off, “said Kennedy.  ”All I wanted to do is get in a position where I was set and ready, and I was and was able to get a touch to it.”

Moments later, the Red-and-White secured their first real chance of the match when Justin Braun surge the right wing. The cross was sent to an open Nick Labrocca for a header that was right at the keeper.

“I think there were opportunities where we could have stolen the game, there were opportunities where they could have stolen the game,” said Fraser.

Though there were lots of criticism facing the home side, Fraser took some time during the press conference to note the positives of the match.

“We were really good defensively, and then too many individual miscues that could have and should have cost us, but we were quite fortunate to get out with a shutout. As we look for positives as we go forward, this certainly is one."

  1. i’m with the butt interpretation. Black guy is saying, “I need something around this size” while white guy is saying “I just cant handle something this size” (with his left needing to be on the outside of the black guy in order to demonstrate the hugeness of what he just cant handle). Of course I could be wrong in assuming these fit athletes want a fit women, so it could be the reverse.
Actually, i think the black guy is simply saying “I cant have you this close to me, right here” (using the distance of both hands from face to give example).
