Thierry Henry is now expected to play against the San Jose Earthquakes this weekend despite his chronic Achilles injury.

Henry, who has yet to score this season, had been a question mark heading into the weekend, but manager Hans Backe told reporters on Thursday that he expected his Designated Player to be part of the starting lineup.

Backe called Henry's situation a "daily thing" and it's one that is sure to be dealt with on a game-by-game basis for the foreseeable future.

Here are a couple of more items from around MLS:

RSL, PHILADELPHIA RESCHEDULE MATCH

The Real Salt Lake-Philadelphia Union league match that was scheduled for April 23 will instead be played on Sept. 3.

The teams rescheduled the match to accomodate RSL, considering the club will be playing in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League final on April 20 and hosting the second leg on April 27.

RSL will have the week in between games off in an attempt to become the first MLS team to win the CCL since it went to it's group-knockout format.

WHITECAPS TO HOST MANCHESTER CITY

The Vancouver Whitecaps will be part of this summer's World Football Challenge when they host Manchester City at Empire Field on July 18.

The Whitecaps and Citizens have met on two prior occasions, with Vancouver winning matchups in 1980 and 1981 in its NASL days.

Vancouver joins the Chicago Fire and New England Revolution — who are both hosting Manchester United — as MLS teams taking part in the WFC this summer.
