  1. a) Only took 30 minutes after you posted.
    b) An argument over a bad short-term loan isn’t really worth having unless that implication is out there.

  2. It’s not as night-and-day as it used to be. Serie A has fallen a long way in recent years. In 09/10, Milan finished 12 points off the pace in a weaker league than the one Aston Villa played in that same season (where they finished 6th, 22pts off. I’m not sure that Villa team wouldn’t have out-pointed Milan if they’d been in the same league.

  3. Wow, sooooooo creative. Did you think of that one yourself? Sounds like someone needs to rewatch those friendlies from last month…

  4. Or maybe MB is not playing well in the EPL and maybe the only reason he is making the USMNT is that his father want him there, despite not playing particularly well now.

  5. Many of the UK papers are reporting that Stan Kroenke will make an offer to buy Arsenal. Kroenke has agreed to but out two other shareholders and bring his stake up to 65%. Under UK acquisition laws, increasing a share level above 30% requires an offer to be made to purchase the remaining shares at market prices.

  6. Stop the objectivity!

At least its widely known that Houllier will be gone at the end of the year, so it’s possible that if Bradley stays at AV he will be in the mix for first team action next year.

But overall, the whole situation has been very odd.

  7. Yeah, I just did some research and it does indeed appear that there is some type of problem between Forlan and management. I don’t necessarily believe everything I read on the internet, but there does seem to be something there.

  8. 3-0 Athletico….. forlan must have been injured, as he played the final 20 min.s of the game. However, I think this is his last year with Athletico Madrid.

  9. hahaha….Podolski, Quaresma, Nani are not in the same class as Bradley (but I see your point though!!). the Same thing is going on with Torres and Rooney before he picked up his scoring habits again, these players have excellent skill so you can have the patience to watch it get back to peak. As for the shaky midfield, hope you didnt watch bradley’s debut, he was horrible (so was everyone else). What I’m saying the pressure he was under that day is what Edu, Jones, Bedoya, Diskerud have to go through every time they are on the pitch because THEIR spot is not guranteed like his (all MB has to do is show up and put in 50% and he’s golden). Reo-Coker starts and has only played for ENG U-21, apart from Young, Downing and Agbonlahor Maybe Pires or Petrov Bradley should at least make the Bench!!!

  10. tottenhams team is sick enough already.

forlan was great at the wc for uruguay. seemed like he really raised his game there (and he was already a very good player).

  11. With all this pseudo psychoanalysis and conspiracy theorizing from never weres frustrated about their own boyhood playing days theres no place for commenting on reality.

  12. Both moves were gambles that just didn’t pay off. It happens in soccer. In hindsight bad moves maybe, but I think the gambles Gooch and MB took were justified. You never know how good you are as a player if you don’t test yourself.

  13. It certainly doesn’t seem to have been a good decision in hindsight.

At the time many thought (and I’m sure Bradley himself) that it would be a challenge but he could play himself into the lineup given some time. It wasn’t a crazy idea seeing as Bradley’s done so before.

Didn’t seem like a terrible move but given Villas midfield in comparison to Heerenven or BMG probably a gamble nonetheless. Now its a gamble that so far hasn’t paid off. Should Mikey B be blamed for trying to break into a higher level of comp?

  14. Bizzy, first of all don’t act like Bradley is the only one who does that. Podolski kept getting called when he was playing like crap or riding the bench, as Did Quaresma and Nani from by Portugal. Like me, those coaches cared about how the player plays on the NATIONAL TEAM, and you know what after the very shaky play of Edu and Jones I am OK with Baby Bradley in the middle.

  15. I’m not sure if there is discontent there, but I heard they are trying to sell him…obviously during the next transfer window, but laying the groundwork now. Tottenham may be interested.

  16. Sorry to get off topic, but I was wondering if anyone knew an internet site where I could read some running commentary on Sunday’s soccer games? Somewhere where users can post some thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play on today’s action?

    Thanks!

  17. The dude is not making the bench and is a regular on the USMNT??? After his dad made it known that if you are not getting regular minutes (in regards to ADU) you wont be selected?? Why will they get you on loan and not even put you on the bench?? Because you are not good enough!!!! Its clear as day…you want the best players at your disposal on the pitch/bench at all times and he can’t even get a backup spot!!!!

    Be real….

  18. Athletico up 1-0 …. Anyone know why Forlan is on the bench? I have not paid close enough attention to A. Madrid as I should have.

  19. This is the issue with MB. Nobody hates him but its comments like that warrant a response. Edu is a regular for Rangers, Jones is a regular for Blackburn hence they are no even in the same bracket. Bring Adu in, make him play regardless of his club situation, make him start each and every game and he’ll be magic!!!! Bradley is not even on the bench, yet he is active because he plays on the Villa reserve team and has a guaranteed a starting spot in the USMNT?????…..lol!!!!He doesnt show enough skill in camp to be ON THE BENCH for Villa…lol. MB is not good enough…period, to bump Villa’s average players off their starting roles. Spector is doing much better than MB is right now and SHOULD be higher in the MF selection pool. If another coach was to take over the USMNT today bradley doesnt start in the gold cup….

  20. Can’t see them getting relegated now, shoe won’t have to worry about that. And yes he did extend his contract with AV.
