Gale Agbossoumonde may not be an automatic starter for Djurgardens IF, but he continued to cement his place in the team on Wednesday.

What do you think of these performances? Hoping Agbossoumonde sticks with Djurgardens for a few seasons? Do you see Diskerud making the Gold Cup team?

Ahhhhhh the Tale of Two Cities.
Also PSG always has awesome kits.
He looks like he could have done better on the first goal. He has had some shaky moments in these last few games. The “Yanks Abroad Soccer Highlights” link under the SBI Soccer Blog Roll on the upper right of this page has highlights.
it was I who have made reference to dempsey not being interested in moving abroad. I forgot where I read it, but he was pretty adamant about it. He also said he’s not a fan of playing outside of the US, its just where the competition is. i think if Fulham holds on to a Europa League spot, he’ll stick around, barring a massive offer. If they lose the spot, I can see him going somewhere. Also important to note that his wife is, i believe, still in graduate school, or at least was not long ago
For sure. Dempsey, I’d say is worth around 6-7million pounds. Fulham would cash in on him, if they’re sure they can find a guaranteed scorer. He’s 1 of their best buys during their time in the PL.
Does anyone believe Dempsey will be at Fulham for another year or 2 or even 5? He has less than a year to make “the big career move”. This is his best season ever so arguably he should leave Fulham. Not for a Big 4 club but PSG wouldn’t be so bad. He would compete but he could arguably start and they will be in the EL for sure, if not the CL. He’d probably make the same amount of cash if not a bit more and whoa living in Paris, nice. But up to him.
Fulham may get back into the EL again but it’ll never have as deep as run as before but I could be wrong. The only other thing to accomplish would be a domestic trophy like the Carling Cup. I certaintly think Dempsey could figure on a CL side.
lol
I thought I read elsewhere that despite the score, Boss had yet another shaky game?
Mole DAmerica I believe.
I hope he doesn’t leave Fulham either, but is it up to him? I hate to say it, but I could see Fulham trying to cash in on Dempsey’s great year and fatten their pocketbook. I hope it doesn’t happen.
I think you’re underestimating how much CL teams are willing to pay for bit players, and scorers are always a commodity, no matter how old they are.
I’m not saying a middling CL team will come calling, but I wouldn’t call it a longshot. And I’d really question CD’s ambition if he were to nix a move just to remain at Fulham. (Or maybe I’m just projecting the fact that I’m sick of watching Fulham play just because they’ve got a Yank or two every year!)
I read it in an interview, seemingly recently, but don’t remember where. I’m sure a quick Google search would pull it out. This is the first I’m mentioned that quote, so I think the other time you read it was from someone else.
I just don’t see Dempsey’s ambition as playing a bit player. Sure it would be nice to compete in the CL, but I don’t see him wanting to not play, or play only a small role in the success of a bigger team.
At his age and with the little success (compared globally) that he’s had, I don’t see a big team going in for him at this stage of his career and Fulham won’t let go without a lot of money on the table.
I think Dempsey’s rise in respect is 2-3 years too late I’m afraid.
This is great to see everyone getting playing time on this list.
Wow, I stand corrected. I had absolutely no idea about the Fair Play standings!
They make it in on fair play rankings in england. chelsea is one, fulham 2, but since chelsea is in the champions league, fulham get a europa spot
He was referring to the Fair Play table. But given the 5 yellows last match and Baird’s verbal abuse of the official, it is very unlikely. In fact, it is looking like Tottenham will grab that spot.
Fulham is nowhere near the Europa League for next year. They’re currently in 10th!
Agreed plus Fulham will be in the Europa League next year, so how is PSG a step up?
I don’t see it
More like “Mole … Dah”
Just curious where you’ve read that CD won’t move to a country where English isn’t the dominant language. I’ve seen someone else reference that on here (maybe it was you a few days ago…), but I haven’t come across where he said that.
Btw, do you honestly think he’d stay at mid-table Fulham if, say, Bayern Munich or Inter came calling (just hypothetically)? I’d think at this stage in his career the Champions League would hold more allure than being able to order a meal in English…
How is “Molde” pronounced? Mole-day, Mole-dee?
Good showing by the lads this week. Glad to see our Molde boys getting starts. Wish we had a way to access their performance (and Boss’) but few on here seem to catch those games…
Never. Dempsey has come out to say he wouldn’t move to a country and have to learn a new language at this stage in his career. It’s either the US or England. He’s fine where he’s at, he could do better, but think his age could deter that a bit.
I’d rather see him stay – he’s starting, Fulham are competitive. No need to blow your playing chances this late in life.
I don’t think that would be a good move. PSG has been down a couple of years (save for current season) and the French league is 5th at best in Europe. Pass and stay in England Clint
Par les vous frances Clint Dempsey?
He might be on his way to PSG.
