It seems like it's just a matter of time before David de Gea is donning the Manchester United goalkeeper kit.

Reports emerging from Spain have made the agreement between Atletico Madrid and Manchester United for de Gea seem like a done deal as the Premier League club looks to replace the retiring Edwin van der Sar.

With a reported fee of £18.3 million, the Spanish keeper looks likely to become United's first signing of what is sure to be an interesting transfer window. United istalso said to be lurking around Ashley Young of Aston Villa and even Samir Nasri of Arsenal, whose contract only has 12 months to go.

De Gea is one of several goalkeepers linked with a switch over the summer along with Ajax's Maarten Stekelenberg, Tottenham's Heurelho Gomes, Manuel Neuer of Schalke 04, and before too long ago, Pepe Reina of Liverpool.

Here are some other stories from around the world to keep your Tuesday rolling:

  1. Can you mention Giggs’ ordeal? I know it’s on BBC, but the Redcafe, the leading United board, have been told by their legal advisers they can’t mention it for fear that the government can come back at them. Even though the cat is out of the bag, it’s still a super injunction which is still in effect.

I know they are gathering all the names from the people on Twitter who retweeted the original statement…

  2. Maybe if BB bombs out of the Gold Cup the USMNT can hire Hiddink…? Not something I hope happens, I just like Hiddink…
