If the New York Red Bulls are to return to their winning ways, they'll have to do so without their captain.

Thierry Henry did not travel with the team to Houston, the team announced via its official Twitter feed. Henry, who is tied for third in the league with five goals, had been bothered by swelling in his right knee and will be rested this weekend.

Luke Rodgers and Juan Agudelo figure to start up top for the Red Bulls at Robertson Stadium in a rematch of a 1-1 draw between the two teams that took place on April 2.

Here are a couple of other notes from around MLS ahead of this weekend's action:

GALAXY SIGNS DAVIES

The Los Angeles Galaxy is hedging its bets that Kyle Davies can stay healthy and reach his potential.

The club signed the former United States Under-20 defender and captain on Friday just weeks after he was waived by FC Dallas.

Davies, 22, was claimed off waivers by the Galaxy the day after he was cut but officially signed with the team and was added to the roster on Friday. He started FC Dallas' opening game last season but broke his arm and missed almost six months before injuring his ankle and missing the postseason.

BECKHAM, FREI TAKE WEEKLY GOAL, SAVE HONORS

David Beckham's free kick against Sporting Kansas City and Stefan Frei's save against the Chicago Fire both turned out to be award-winning plays.

Beckham's trademark free kick from about 25 yards was the icing on L.A.'s 4-1 victory, while Frei's save denied Chicago's Daniel Paladini of a would-be game-winner in their 2-2 draw.

Here's video of Beckham's goal and Frei's save.

How do you think Henry's injury affects the NY-HOU match? Think Davies will blossom in Los Angeles? Do you think Beckham and Frei were deserved winners?
