Multiple chances failed to materialize into a goal as Toronto FC and the Colorado Rapids battled to a scoreless draw at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Sunday night.

It was a back-and-forth game early on but neither team could threaten the opposition's goal. Conor Casey thought he was in on goal but was whistled for offsides in the 30th minute.

The visitors almost took the lead in first-half stoppage time but Matt Pickens denied Nick Soolsma from close range. Toronto FC continued its offensive threat after the restart. Mikael Yourassowsky's long-range effort came back off the crossbar after Pickens got fingertips to the ball.

The Rapids dominated posession in the final half-hour but lacked a finishing touch. Tyrone Marshall was left alone in the box in stoppage time but couldn't direct his header on target and the game ended scoreless.

  1. TFC was without it’s usual starting mid field, as De Guzman was out with accumulated yellows, Tchani & Peterson were injured so the draw from my perspective was positive. The test will be Philly after a mid week NCC game with the Whitecaps

  2. Cummings and Folan injured, Casey’s first game back after a lengthy injury break, not really a suprise they couldn’t find the back of the net.
