U.S. U-18s set for Lisbon tournament

Professionals, Development Academy players and incoming college impact freshmen make up Mike Matkovich's United States Under-18 roster for next week's trip to Lisbon, Portugal.

The U-18s will face the Netherlands, Portugal and Finland on May 25, 26 and 28, respectively, in the Lisbon International Tournament. Among those headlining the roster are Birmingham City youth midfielder Will Packwood, Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Jon Kempin, Chicago Fire midfielder Victor Pineda and Real Salt Lake midfielder Luis Gil.

Here is the 20-man roster that's headed to Portugal:

UNITED STATES U-18 ROSTER

GOALKEEPERS – Jeff Gal (Sockers FC), Jon Kempin (Sporting Kansas City).

DEFENDERS – Michael Ambrose (FC Dallas Academy), Jack Coleman (FC Dallas Academy), Bryan Gallego (New York Red Bulls Academy), Jordan McCrary (University of North Carolina), Juan Pablo Ocegueda (Tigres), Boyd Okwuonu (FC Dallas Academy), Walker Zimmerman (Furman).

MIDFIELDERS – Luis Gil (Real Salt Lake), Daniel Metzger (New York Red Bulls Academy), William Packwood (Birmingham City), Victor Pineda (Chicago Fire), Alex Shinksy (University of Maryland), Christopher Somerville (Baltimore Bays Chelsea), Wil Trapp (Crew Soccer Academy).

FORWARDS – Villyan Bijev (Cal Odyssey), Luis Rendon (FC Richmond Magic), Khiry Shelton (Lonestar SC), Jonathan Top (FC Dallas Academy).
