The top two teams in the world are set to face off in London in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, and one will add a fourth European championship trophy to its already busting silverware case.
Giants Barcelona and Manchester United will meet in the Champions League for the third time in the last four years. Manchester United won their semifinal matchup in 2008 en route to the title, and Barcelona won the rematch in the 2009 final.
Both bring starpower throughout the field and into the coaching box, which should make for an entertaining championship match worthy of a final.

The game is not really that good, since some are playing dirty, this is the reason why both fans of the team is also fighting and acting violently. But i think playing dirty is also part of the game especially with this kind of sports. I think those dirty tactic is their way of winning. Thanks for sharing this, very informative post!
you were close. was hernandez playing? the kid looked lost.
At least there aren’t any Italian teams… but on the other hand, I think the ref won’t get faked by flopping.
Who scores for Barca?
I think Barcalona will take the title 3-1, with goals from Pedro, Messi x2, and Hernandez for Manchester.
I’m rooting for Man Utd, but I think it’ll be FCB 2-1.
what’s a good place to watch the match in NYC?
Darcy’s in bradley beach
Barca 3-0 Man utd.
Barca all the way, for lousy english team and fans take tissue papers with you tonight you would definitely need it
Or should I say, both goals from the best player in the world, Leo Messi!
From the looks of these comments, you would think Man U are the favorite!
But… 2-0 Barcelona. Messi with both goals
well said kevin!
Any suggestions for best places to watch the game in Monmouth County, New Jersey?
Manchester United in penalties!
After 1-1 tie, goals by Villa and Rooney match will go to overtime and remain tied-
2:45 kickoff, I believe.
i heard they want to put puyol at LB Valencia will smoke him
I predict a tight affair with cynical fouls aplenty in the second 45 and lots of crowding the ref… man I sure hope I’m wrong.
Hopefully the ref will let the game flow. Not a fan of either team; but I could see a David Villa and Hernandez goal. then extra minutes…
oops, i only converted part of that. i’m on the west coast and i started converting to east coast with the 2 pm but then switched back to west coast with the 1130/1145. anyway, still, question stands.
does anyone know what time the game actually starts? is it 2pm for pre-game and 11:30/11:45 for start?
I was thinking more about an Oscar winning performance about 10yd outside the box. It could be Vidic, it could just as easily be any of the other 9 field players wearing red.
I would love to see Berbatov nab the winner.
2-1 United, AET. Chicharito with the first gol in regular time. Berbatov off the bench with the winner in extra time.
This made me smile.
well, its its not like Sir is so lovely and wonderful. He cries as much as anybody. Both these teams have unpleansant personalities, but since I don’t support either, I’m just hoping for a close, exciting game with chances galore. I guess some people always need a rooting interest, justified by any reason howsoever silly, though.
I was thinking the same thing, Vidic pulls down Messi on a break-away in the first 5 minutes and gives up a PK and gets a red card. Worst case scenario for ManU…
Ha, I’m with JW
Barca plays their WBs far up the pitch, Park and Valencia will be dangerous on the break. Nani is on the bench to toast someone late down those same wings. I think ManU holds, breaks on Barca late and scores on a whipped in cross. A 1-0 that the Special 1 would be proud of…
Actually, scrap that. Barca gets Vidic sent off early second half after donning the flippers, wins 2-0.
Los Ahijados de dios are going to lose.
I feel the same way about Barca. I have a ton of respect for Messi but not for too many of the others after the last series.
Liverpool will pull off the greatest comeback of all time.
says it’s going to be on the regular fox channel…
Oh I realize he probably won’t play. Just wishful thinking. Part of me still really really likes Owen and wishes we could see him in all his glory again.
game is on Fox, Jeff.
I’m thinking FCB 1-0 or 2-1 depending upon how physical the game is. Can’t Wait! Força Barça!
if owen gets pt it’s because they are down a goal or two…
I can see 2-1 happening, but I don’t see a situation in which Owen sees the field.
Sorry to have to ask this, but is the game on Fox Broadcast again or is it FSC, or ???.
I doubt they will play 2 up top from the start. If Rooney and Chicharito are on the same field, Rooney will play more as a winger.
I’m hopin since the game’s in England the refs let it get physical and don’t over-officiate. Man U will win if they allowed to play “aggressive.” F*** Barcelona.
It shoudl be an amazing game regardless of the score, but if Barcalona stays upright and presses Man U high up the field Man U Rooney and Chicharito will never get service. I really do think that If Barca flops they’ll regret it. they need to stay on thier feet and apply pressure.
Yeah if they get a ref who lets them play, who doesn’t buy into the dance hall shenanigans of Barcalona, United will win 2-1.
I want to see Michael Owen score the winning goal. That would just be classic.
Man U 2-1…Goals by Vidic and Rooney…write that down.
+1 Barca is still an incredible team to watch, but that series tarnished their allure.
well said brad!
Man U’s best shot is to have Chicharito marked up on Puyol so he can blow by him and to have Valencia blow by who ever plays LB for Barca. That and a Vidic goal on a set piece.
I usually wouldn’t want Man U to win but Barca lost me with all their dives, whining, and gamesmanship against Real…
