Two of the last three MLS Cup champions get together in a rematch of the 2011 CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals at Crew Stadium, as Columbus hosts Real Salt Lake in a midweek MLS match (7:30 p.m., MLS Direct Kick/MatchDay Live).
Both teams will look to get Week 13 started off on the right foot, as both have matches this weekend, too.
Columbus is looking to ride the momentum of its last-gasp equalizer at New York over the weekend, while RSL bounced back from its first home loss in two years to defeat Vancouver behind MLS Player of the Week Jean Alexandre and his strike partner, Fabian Espindola. The two will need to be at their best to score on in-form Columbus centerback Chad Marshall and goalkeeper Will Hesmer.
If you will be watching tonight's match, please feel free to share any thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below.
Enjoy the game.
they have not been the same team since losing the Champions League final… even before Morales injury they were alooft.
I apologize for my earlier reference to fat Ronaldo’s history.
they aren’t the same team at all…you cant just fall apart like that
def rooting for salt lake!
What happened?
He was already disliked by the fans and now probably in the locker room as well if he wasn’t already.
Mendoza is the man! He needs to go into crowd spitting at babies and slapping senior citizens…lol selfish
It was diverted…happens…
Blame Kries how?? Curious why he is to blame? He is the best manager in MLS…
No problem with their confidence..just going through a scoring drought…which started before Javy got hurt…and losing Sabo to Gold Cup duty doesn’t help…
Josh Gardener? Please…
The CCL loss and the loss of Morales have destroyed RSL’s confidence….No business losing this one. Blame has to go to Kreis…
Watching the replay it looked like no contact at all…regardless a ticky-tack PK….
And Columbus gets a second goal…wow…
Dang, Columbus up 2-1 and I can’t say they don’t deserve it. RSL has been way too casual, even after the penalty.
It was definitely a feel the contact and exaggerate move, but because there was that tiny bit of contact almost any ref would have given that penalty.
I was hoping Mendoza would miss the kick ’cause it would have been interesting to see all the Columbus players head’s explode.
That was a dive…no way that was a PK….he dove….and the replay showed it…now 1-1….
ever since the fed took out the most popular site (atdhe) and it came back as atdhenet.tv it doesn’t do much American sports and the MLS is very hard to find all but the biggest games. Thank you very much NFL and UFC owners!
whats wrong with that?
Wow. Cunningham just pulled a fat Ronaldo.
Ives’ traffic numbers must be huge what with the never-ending parade of new users every week looking for streams.
Stream anyone???
I wish Carl, but I’m thinking 3-1 to RSL, with Olave, Beckerman, Espindoza, and Gaven getting on the board.
Rimando and the Real D is too strong especially since Renteria is out for the Crew…Does Jeff C even play anymore?
May the most massive club win.
Two nil, to Columbus Crew…
I look for a low-scoring affair…Maybe Alexandre is the partner to finally get Espindola going…RSL 1-0
