  1. You’re comment suggests the media can only focus on new players. There are many more areas that can be, maybe even should be, discussed instead.

There should be, right now, even more talk about the team’s record since the WC. There should be more pressure on Bradley to break away from his rigid formation. Maybe why new and younger players are getting the attention instead of the established players (why are the current players so boring in the eyes of the media, or maybe even the public – media for established teams around the world have a stronger focus on established players).

There are many stories out there.

  2. John, well who exactly is the American soccer media supposed to focus on? Demps is already established in Europe, MB is in between teams and not playing at the club level, Landon is in MLS and is a known quantity, Jozy is in Turkey and not scoring anyway, CD9 is in MLS and his story has been covered extensively, and Chandler isn’t even here. The media is going to focus on Ream because he’s the biggest story on young players that’s out there right now.

It’s up to Tim to handle the pressure and develop into the player that many think he’s capable of.

  3. I too believe Ream is the TYPE of player the US needs more of. But this kind of media attention for someone who has barely played for the national team?

Hopefully the media doesn’t start turning defenders into the flame outs we’ve seen with forwards… Adu, Altidore, Johnson, and on…

This is especially true as Ream does have the potential… like Agudelo.

  4. Ream didn’t play in the Argentina game. He did play in the other match, but he certainly wasn’t booting the ball all the time.

  5. Okay I would say he would only be good for a Scandanavian team. I bet he will not be good enough in the future for an EPL team. If he show me more I might could judge if he is good enough for a championship team.

  6. LMBO, Ream did that in the Argentina game all the time he just booted the ball up and when he passed back it almost got taken from him by an Argentinian player.

  7. if you want to start bashing and arguing players…. once ream is done shining his boots, he will go to europe and actually stay and succeed. By then Donovan will be shining his boots.

  8. On a side note: do you think Ream is trash talking Donovan about the shot on goal that he was able to chase down and clear away in the NY vs LA game? I know I would be.

  9. Sounds like he’s been reading SBI. All Ives talks about is how composed Ream is in the back and his great passing. Not that I’m arguing with that point.

  10. I love Ream’s confidence even after that howler against Philadelphia that lost the game. Sounded like he was kind of calling out the other defenders in the NT pool.
