It is a historic night for soccer in the Midwest as Livestrong Sporting Park opens its doors for its first match, as Sporting Kansas City debuts its $200 million facility tonight against the Chicago Fire (10pm, ESPN2).
Sporting KC has yet to win a match since opening day, but finally returns home since enduring a lengthy road trip while its stadium was completed. KC faces a struggling Chicago side adapting to interim head coach Frank Klopas, who will be coaching his second match since replacing Carlos De Los Cobos.
You have two teams desperate for a win, and a state-of-the-art stadium going on display for the first time. It should be an intense and entertaining night in Kansas City.
