FC Dallas continued its impressive roll in the MLS as it took down the Columbus Crew 2-0 at Pizza Hut Park in Texas Saturday night thanks to goals from the red-hot duo of Brek Shea and Jackson Goncalves.

Shea got off the mark in the 58th minute when Will Hesmer fumbled a Marvin Chavez effort which Shea was on-hand to tidy up and put his side in front.  The goal was the eighth of his campaign (tied for the league lead) and has now scored four in the last four games.

Jackson finished off the job in the 76th when Andrew Jacobson found the Brazilian with a clinical through ball for him to expertly chip over a helpless Hesmer and double the advantage.  Jackson has three goals in the last three games and as many overall this season.

The result means that FC Dallas sit second in the West, only one point behind the LA Galaxy and three above the Seattle Sounders (who clash on Monday).  Unbeaten in 12 of the last 13 games, Dallas will travel to the Rio Tinto to battle Real Salt Lake in the MLS next week.

The loss means that the Crew are third in the East, trailing New York by a point but sitting four above a rejuvenated Sporting Kansas City side.  Next up is a midweek match-up with Vancouver at Empire Field on Wednesday.

Can Shea and Jackson keep their run of form going?  How relevant is Shea in the running for MVP?

  1. Jacobson has been great filling in for Ferreira, he may be the MVP candidate. Jackson has been great filling in at midfield while Castillo is off at the Colombian U-20 camp. Shea is playing with a lot of confidence right now. One thing I do know is that Hyndman is the coach of the year so far. I would love to see him coach the MLS Allstar team.
