The United States and Brazil didn't think they'd be meeting this early in the FIFA Women's World Cup. That hardly means their matchup will be any less entertaining.
The two powers go head-to-head in the quarterfinals of the World Cup on Sunday in a rematch of the 2008 Olympic gold medal game as a highlight of this weekend's slate of matches.
On the men's side, Copa America continues as Brazil is in action against Paraguay in a battle of 2010 World Cup quarterfinalists. On the youth circuit, Mexico and Uruguay battle for Under-17 supremacy in the final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
It's an interesting weekend in MLS as well, with New York-D.C. and Seattle-Portland rivalry matches on tap along with a battle of Western Conference powers Real Salt Lake and FC Dallas.
Here is this weekend's soccer on TV:

Scheduling is still piss poor
There aren’t really any MLS games being shown on the Fox Sports Regional Channels this weekend as usual.
I have Direct TV and channels FSSW and FSH aren’t showing any FCD or Dynamo games.
No MLS Friday game and too many on Saturday…Wake up, Garber!
Nice goals of Mexico to beat Germany. There second goal was a olimpic goal and there 3rd goal a bicycle kick.
This is a great summer weekend lineup.
Real Salt Lake vs. FC Dallas should be on TV; it’s a shame a game like this can’t be seen by anyone but those of us who already buy into MLS.
The Seattle-Portland game should be nuts and a good showcase for the league for atmosphere and fun.
I’ve got another commitment Sunday morning, but my prayers will be with the ladies.
usa vs mexico friendly announced for august 10th!
the two should have met in semis or the grande finale…well thats the way football is… u should be ready for whoever and whatever that comes on ur way…
Thank you for continuing to provide the weekend soccer television listings. it is an invaluable resource and we appreciate it.
then your score should been 4-2
Well, since Mexican soccer has sprinted waaay ahead of US Soccer, maybe if we start acting like them we’ll get results:
USWNT 10, Brazil: 0
