The final to the unpredictable Copa America is on tap for this weekend, as Uruguay and Paraguay do battle for South America's regional crown and a place in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.

New seasons around the world get set to begin as well, as the Mexican Apertura campaign kicks off this weekend with American striker Herculez Gomez debuting with his new team, Estudiantes Tecos.

The World Football Challenge remains in full swing, with a whole host of friendlies on the schedule, including Manchester United at the Chicago Fire, Real Madrid at the Philadelphia Union and Manchester City at the Los Angeles Galaxy. For MLS teams playing meaningful matches, they don't get much more intriguing than the New York Red Bulls-FC Dallas tilt that pits an in-form Western Conference side against a New York team that is struggling to find consistency despite a star-studded roster.

Here is this weekend's soccer on TV:

  1. Look for Galaxy victory on their true home field (LA Coliseum is a joke). Man City will not be able to handle the climate in this one.

But will we see the likes of the talented, young Cardozo or the likes of the old, washed-up Kirovski???

  2. I am already bored with the friendlies. I would rather watch a real MLS-MLS game, but I don’t get any on TV this weekend.

  3. Worst Copa America ever?

Too many draws…. few goals….. the big 2 team were eliminated way too soon. And……. I read that Paraguay made the final by NOT WINNING a single game in regulation time.

    WORST COPA AMERICA EVER !!!

  4. Forza Uruguay!

Union better come with crash helmets ponchos and a box of renewed self esteem. This could get ugly…

  5. Would be nice to see NYRB bounce back at home and take out their frustrations on FCD after being blown out by the Rapids.
