The Europa League Playoff second legs are underway today, and there are a plethora of Americans in action.
Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Carlos Bocanegra, Maurice Edu, Steve Cherundolo, Sacha Kljestan and Jonathan Spector, Michael Parkhurst and Oguchi Onyewu are all on teams in Europa League action today (with all but Onyewu starting today) so it will be a very important day for Americans Abroad as they all look to progress to the group stages of the Europa League.

Maybe. The text updates had Dempsey taking corners from both sides of the field. I supsect Jol is trying things out to see what he has to work with and I doubt he keeps Dempsey out there. Dempsey is too valuable around the goal on corners, especially for a team that usually struggles to score. Anyway, I thought it was intersting to see Dempsey taking corners as I can’t recall him ever doing that for Fulham.
Agreed. I didn’t mean to suggest Dempsey was taken off for poor performance. Etuhu came in for him, so I believe it was a defensive sub.
What is sad is that Shamrock made it to the group stage, and no one from the SPL

True. Would be cool to see Jozy become a mainstay there and help them challenge for a CL spot next yr.
Scotland has ZERO clubs in the group stage of European competition this season.
