The Philadelphia Union came out on top of a 5-3 exhibition game against central Pennsylvania affiliate club Harrisburg City Islanders Wednesday night.

After going 2-0 down inside the first twenty minutes, the Union rebounded to score five straight, with Harrisburg adding a late consolation goal in the 85th.

Justin Mapp, Ryan Richter, Zach Pfeffer, Roger Torres, and trialist Joe Tait scored the goals for the Union, which started the match with several regulars in the lineup.

A 21-year-old defender from Middlesbrough, England, Tait was with Hartlepool United in his native country before moving to the United States to accept a scholarship at Lindsey Wilson College. He is currently under contract with the Dayton Dutch Lions in the USL Professional Division, the third tier of American soccer.

Winger Keon Daniel will likely miss the Union’s game on Sunday against New England after being called up by Trinidad & Tobago manager Otto Pfister for his squad to face Bermuda and Barbados in CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying.

Daniel, who joined the club in March, has scored one goal and contributed two assists in 18 appearances. He was named to the SBI MLS Team of the Week earlier in the season for his performance against the San Jose Earthquakes, joining teammates Carlos Valdes and Sheanon Williams.

Also set to miss the game are midfield anchor Brian Carroll (right foot contusion) and winger Levi Houapeu (L ankle strain), while midfielder Michael Farfan (left calf strain) is listed as probable.

The Union re-acquired backup goalkeeper Thorne Holder this week. A former Trinidad and Tobago youth international, Holder had been released to free up an International roster slot, but was brought back after the International transfer deadline passed and the Union's only move was for American Freddy Adu.

What do you think of these developments?
