Martin Vasquez and Tab Ramos have been named as two of five assistant coaches appointed by U.S. men's national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann for the upcoming friendly against Mexico.

Thomas Dooley, Mike Curry and Mark Verstegen were the others chosen to be part of Klinsmann's rotating pool of assistant coaches.

Ramos and Dooley are former U.S. internationals, while Vasquez served under Klinsmann during his stint at Bayern Munich. Curry is a goalkeepers coach and Verstegen currently specializes in athletic training.

What do you think of Klinsmann's selections for assistant coaches? Who do you think has the best chance to stick?

  1. It was Tab that got knocked in the head by Leonardo…no Wynalda.

And that Brazilian team didn’t play “jogo bonito”. One of the most hated Brazilian Teams by Brazilians.

  2. Dude, I am in Miami, and would love a team to return, but people have this misconception that Miami is a city with Latinos from soccer playing countries, and mostly it is Cubans and Cuban decent. Cubans are not traditionally soccer players. Although there is a large growing Brazilian population in South Florida, its a weak sports market where everybody seems to come from somewhere else, and maintains their loyalties to the teams from there home cities…

  3. I think if you recall we were cheated in that game. We were holding the Brazilians to a 0-0 draw, until that cheap shot elbow by Leonardo to Wynaldas skull…Thats how the Brazilians play, once they cant impose their “jogo bonito” on a team, they resort to dirty cheap play…
