While it wasn't quite as crazy as the close of the European transfer window, Thursday's close of the MLS transaction window did bring a flurry of moves, though no real blockbusters or moves involving big-name players.
The deadline day activity was confined to one minor trade and a raid on the roster of USL-Pro champions Orlando City, with three Orlando City players making moves to MLS sides. The most impressive of the pick-ups has to be Real Salt Lake's acquisition of USL-Pro MVP Yordany Alvarez, a midfielder who should provide some good depth for an RSL side that could be looking to provide some rest for its starting midfielders down the stretch.
Here is the rundown of Thursday's MLS deadline day transactions:
Toronto FC traded defender Dasan Robinson to the Los Angeles Galaxy for defender Kyle Davies.
Real Salt Lake signed USL-Pro Player of the Year Yordany Alvarez from Orlando City. RSL also signed Home Grown Academy player Nico Muniz.
Sporting Kansas City signed Kenyan defender Lawrence Olum from Orlando City.
The San Jose Earthquakes have acquired forward Maxwell Griffin on loan from Orlando City.
The Vancouver Whitecaps have signed Trinidad & Tobago centerback Carlyle Mitchell.
The Philadelphia Union signed midfielder Morgan Langley from Harrisburg City Islanders.

I hope he ends up being more than a loan as well. My spouse and I often cringed watching him on the field for Orlando City. Still scratching my head over the Player of the Year award.
Watched Yordany for a couple years here in Austin. Really like the guy. Hope he ends up more than a loan for y’all.
Morgan Langley has supreme athleticism. With good coaching, he could become a true professional.
Dasan Robinson is garbage, my friend.
RSL did the best here
LA should have tried to find a true partner for Keane….Hopefully Cardozo gets a chance. He was missing vs Santos.
Cheap RSL could have got Carlos Hernandez, but this guy sounds pretty good.
TFC realy could have used Robinson vs Pumas. The pairing of Iro and Harden could be the worst in MLS history. I can see why Iro never got a chance with the Crew and Harden should not be playing professional soccer.
NE is looking good with their signings. The young backline must come through though.
hey i played with Nico in high school at Rio Rancho in New Mexico! Go Rams! The kid has game. A natural scorer. He should do well wit Real. Good luck dude.
Yordany Alvarez is actually on loan to RSL for the rest of the year, similar to Max Griffin for SJE
I was upset at first glance that the Red Bulls didn’t sign anyone to add some depth to the team, but then I remembered that Hans Backe doesn’t use his subs unless they are named Agudelo or Ballouchy. So, I guess as it has been for the last 3 months of the NYRB season, I guess I am sitting here not caring and wishing I didn’t have tickets to two more embarrassing almost-failures this season.
I think the DC United front office is barely a rumor.
It says a lot that a homegrown signing barely gets a mention
I like this better than signing has been europeans. Lookin at you New England
