The MLS season resumes Wednesday night with a couple of matches featuring teams in the thick of the playoff hunt. Both D.C. United and the Chicago Fire need to come away with points to maintain their hopes at sneaking into one of the remaining playoff berths.
While Vancouver can play spoiler for D.C., FC Dallas still has its eye on an automatic playoff berth in its Brimstone Cup match against the Fire, as FCD remains within striking distance of Real Salt Lake for the third seed in the Western Conference.
Sporting Kansas City is also in action, but in a friendly, as it hosts Chivas de Guadalajara at Livestrong Sporting Park. Here is the viewing schedule for the night's matches:
8:30 p.m. – MLS Direct Kick/MatchDay Live – Chicago Fire vs. FC Dallas
8:30 p.m. – ESPN3.com/ESPN Deportes – Sporting Kansas City vs. Chivas de Guadalajara
10 p.m. – MLS Direct Kick/MatchDay Live – Vancouver Whitecaps vs. D.C. United
If you will be watching any of Wednesday night's games, please feel free to share any thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below. Enjoy the action.

Shea subbed in last 20 minutes or so. My apologies.
No Shea or Hernandez for FCD tonight. Impressive. DanIel Cruz’s goal was magnificent.
It was a mistake on his part but recovered well enough to cut off the angle.
Nothing like a Brimestone Cup game to break the scoring drought for FCD.
oops thought my first post failed. Im not hating on Anibaba..but i was thinking the same thing as patagonia seconds before he let jackson get by him
when he’s awake
Anibaba is solid.
