The Bob Bradley coaching tree continues to extend north of the border.
Former U.S. national team assistant Mike Sorber has joined the coaching staff for the Montreal Impact, where he'll assist head coach Jesse Marsch when the club makes the leap to MLS next year. Sorber and Marsch were both assistants under Bradley for the national team from 2010-2011, and the two were teammates on the Chicago Fire playing under Bradley in 2000.
Sorber, a former U.S. international who competed in Mexico and MLS during his playing career, was previously an assistant at St. Louis University before joining Bradley's staff for the 2010 World Cup cycle.
Sorber joins Preston Burpo, who signed on as goalkeepers coach earlier this week, as Marsch's assistants.
What do you think of the Impact's coaching staff?

Sorber is an extremely smart individual. I chatted with him before the USMNT match in Nashville this spring. Wish him all the best.
Wasn’t sorber the dude next to the pile after the LD algeria goal with the double fist sream at the ground celebration? dont know why watch the replay its hilarious
He should be a great help to them if he can stay Sober.
It will be interesting to see what they can do on the club level . Sober was a great assistant for Bradley through out. If he can be as much help for the Impact they might have a good first year.
agreed 100%
Jesse Marsch: Solid player, team leader, ultimate competitor and consumate professional. Served under Bradley as an assistant for a short time under Bradleys worst stretch as a coach.
Mike Sorber: great career South of the border and domestically as well as with the national team. Served under Bradley as an assistant during the successfull term.
You would think Mike would get an opportunity as a head coach before Marsch would considering the experience as an assistant coach. In any case…I don’t know what the impact have done in the past or what their history is because quite frankly I don’t care. The only thing I know is that the impact SUCK!
Welcome to the MLS.
thankfully nobody from bradley’s tenure with the usmnt can find a coaching gig in the us!
I watched Marsch play in college and of course in MLS. He played a much different role in MLS than he did in college, and that role continued to evolve as he grew from a player on the margins at DC United to a strong contributer at Chicago to a team leader at Chivas. That continuing evolution will make him a good coach, perhaps a great one.
I competed against Marsch for a couple of seasons on the collegiate level. Cerebral / overachiever would definitely categorize him. While he was a solid college player, I never thought for a second that he would be a pro let alone a consummate professional for a decade let alone getting capped by the USMNT. Kudos to him.
I think he’ll make a good coach and Sorber is a great complement. What made Marsch good as pro should translate to coaching.
