  1. Does anyone know who the play-by-play announcer on ESPN2 is for the Brazil vs. Mexico game? This guy is terrible!! It’s like he doesn’t know how to speak!

  2. No, he’s approaching superstar status in Italy (only thing keeping him back is that he plays abroad), and the coach gushes about him. He’d most likely be a starter if the game mattered. Prandelli is fiddling and testing the depth of his bench.

  3. I was at the Sweden/Netherlands game!! In Stockholm for work…

Netherlands had several top players including Sneijder, Stekelenberg, and Robben out with injury…

They still played a lot of quality players … Van Persie, Van Der Vaart, Kuyt, Huntelaar, Van Bommel, Elia (off the bench)

Sweden played a good game… go Sverige!

  4. He didn’t say “Ireland got screwed out of a trip to the WC” he said they got “screwed over in WC qualifying.” Meaning they got screwed out of a *fair shot* of qualifying. That’s indisputable. Of course there are no guarantees– in fact, France would have been favorites even if it had gone to penalties. But a truly egregious non-call took away even that chance.

And why would people stop bitching about it? They’re still bitching about the Hand of God, and that was 25 years ago. Such is sports.

  5. Azerbaijan.

Alright, I know I’m not a geography buff by any means, but I didn’t even know this country existed. It sounds like it could be from Harry Potter or something. But I hope they win.

  7. Not awesome…Ireland deserves a shot at Euro 14 after getting screwed over in WC qualifying.
I do, however, agree that it would be awesome if Bosnia beat France.

  8. Germany will win Euro 2012 and this is coming from a fan of Spain.Seriously they have the most complete team. Only error is no world class striker after Gomez and Klose
