England vs. Spain: Match Day Commentary

EnglandLogoSpainLogo

The best match of the weekend, at least the best friendly, features England taking on Spain in a battle of star-studded sides (12:15pm, Fox Soccer Channel).

Both teams have qualified for the European Championships, and both sides are considered contenders for the trophy (though Wayne Rooney's red card suspension for the competition won't help the English).

SBI will be providing live commentary on today's friendly so please feel free to follow along here. As always, you are welcome to share your own thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

  1. Yes, but the distance between them and Spain (not withstanding today’s result) and Germany, to name two, is substantial.

  2. LOL

You know what’s really funny? If Spain had won, they’d be the ones clapping and hugging, smiling and laughing. LOL. Does anyone over 15 years of age actually use “LOL”?

  3. England is a pretty good team when they don’t have an English coach. Don’t think they are a favorite but maybe a semi-final contender.

  4. That looked like a pretty lackluster squad to me. England will use this result to kid themselves a few more months that they have a chance at Euro 2012.

  5. I dont know who i want to win. I hate the diving cheaters of spain but then i dont want england to win because i dont want to hear the english thinking they are amazing

  6. c’mon man…England has notoriously been grouped w/weak opponents when playing for major tournaments. Alot of wins have been inflated due to opposition.
