Is this the next USMNT jersey?

U.S. Crest

The U.S. men's national team is set to unveil a new jersey during the early parts of next year, but images are already surfacing as to what it will look like.

According to multiple jersey-related websites, the next U.S. jersey will have red and white horizontal stripes with a ghost sash going downwards from right to left (just as the current ones have). Going off years past, the jersey is likely to make its debut during the first international date of 2012, which is in late February.

You can see the jersey here.

Assuming this is the next U.S. jersey, what do you think of it? Would you buy it?

  1. I agree…the badge that we have now is terrible…why blue and white stripes?

We chant U S A but our badge reads U S…makes no sense at all!

  2. All those against this jersey are WRONG! This is the best jersey to come out of US Soccer in forever. The stripes have an identity to them. A jersey that honors our awesome flag.

If it were up to me, this stripe aweseome shirt would be our #1 shirt. And the stripe shirt (Blue with white) or (White with Red stripe) as the #2 shirt.

  3. I like this better than the current white jersey. I know the current one has a silver sash, but when you’re watching on TV it just looks like a plain white jersey and the kit just looks so dull. And the white look will always be associated with England, IMHO.

  4. I agree completely. I love that jersey!! I haven’t bought a USA jersey since the ’06 version, but I will definitely buy this one.

  5. With this design, a shield change to something like a hybrid of these would be pretty boss. Navy shield, single white star.

    ..or better yet…×300.jpg

Seriously though, everyone complaining about us not having a “look” needs to think back and realize that we have worn white and navy shorts for the last ten years. Personally, I wasn’t a fan of looking just like England (Revolutionary War?), and would have preferred navy with white shorts, but it wasn’t a big deal. I can’t see how this was any different from Germany’s so-called “look” which does have minor design changes from uni to uni.

Everyone still complained and wanted a red jersey. I’ve never understood that, since so many other teams in CONCACAF have red jerseys.
