true, he could have probably saved it. but at the same time the shot went right through the wall. A keeper is supposed to trust the wall to stay strong and block the shot, but they broke down. overall its a soft goal
It actually looks like he hit it to the goalkeeper’s left of the wall and the guy on that end jumped out of the way. Keeper is lined up on the left side of his goal and logic says if he is that far over, he can see the ball. Ball was not hit with blistering pace.. should have made a better effort on it.
That goal was in no way the goalkeeper’s fault. The wall just split and the ball went right where they should have been standing. His only mistake was not reading them the riot act after they split apart.
The US called him every time there was an opportunity under Rongen, Hertha Berlin usually didn’t release him but he has been with the US youths three times now and Germany zero times, so why do you think Low won’t give up on him? This is Germany, if a player expresses interest in some other country they will just move on to one of their thirty other prospects.
They look good, but they need to learn to make the last pass. On half those chances, one more pass would have created an open shot instead of a challenged one.

Olympic Team has a ton of talent.
Mix spells his name with 1 ‘x’ – he said it himself. Let’s spread the word.

Size, skills and a built in goal celebratory refrain: “Yeeeeaaaahhhh Booyyyyyd!!!”
Oh yeah – start the hype machine

On the goal he scored, I could see a handful of USA players going down on the first challenge.
I think Boyd may be a cut above the other 30 youths, but if they don’t take him to camp, I agree they may lose him.
hahahhaha that was so embarassing

Horrible wall setup by Bingham on the goal.. you never get beat near post on a free kick unless someone bends it over the wall…
Mixx should be called up the Senior National Team. Boyd looked impressive.
Anyone know if vid of whole match is available?
Isn’t Agudelo with the U23’s? Did he play?
I cant see Low and Germany giving up easily on Boyd. Klinsmann will need to make a very good pitch.

The shots on goal were courtesy of Andrew Wooten and Gyua.
Mixx the assist machine!
That was Boyd again, with a flick from Diskerud from what I can tell.
Uh, yeah.
Domination by Boyd. Who hit that post shot? This game could have been 3-1, USA.
Well, David Bingham would probably like to have another chance on that free kick. He didn’t exactly cover himself in glory on that one.
Boyd hype machine begin?
Yeah it was Mixx. At least that’s what ussoccer_ynt said on their twitter feed. He also had a pretty nice outlet ball on the first goal from Friday.
looks good, though I’d be completely fine if I never saw that celebration dance again…
yep!
Thats mixx with the assist right?
Terrence Boyd lighting it up. Who was #10 that missed the two shots for the USA?
Terrence Boyd certainly passes the “eyeball” test. He looks like a physical stud!
