  1. Welcome to the internet, where people form strong opinions based on the most random s*** imaginable and then feel the need to express them to the rest of us.

  2. Jong Ajax is the name of the reserve/youth team … i guess that is “upper” youth team … they also have an U19 team … this is what the team site calls Ajax1 or Jong Ajax … the reserve team which includes some young players that would normally be considered U23s for some other teams i guess.

from what i can tell most of those guys were between 19-23.

  3. Salagado looked like he had a good game…from what I could see in these highlights. You know #14 didn’t have a good game when he was shown getting burned multiple times in a short highlight video. Seems like a decent enough result given they have never played together unlike the Ajax reserves. Per usual, finishing was sub par…although the two goals were well taken.

  4. I’m sorry, you saw one play, by an unidentifiable player (for you) have a shot blocked by a pressuring player, and you have now concluded (based on that image) that the player has “low energy, poor skills” and is a “bang the ball artist[]”?

    That’s just ridiculous.

  5. Omar had a beautiful run. USA #14 was horrible (just remove him from roster). Another back who blasted his clearance off of an Ajax player’s backside needs to return to the U-12’s. Those are the kind of defenders Klinsi will never look at, low energy, poor skills, bang the ball artists.

  6. Exactly what I was thinking, I was hoping he made a nice pass to Hertzog at the end, but he wasn’t even looking for open teammates.

  7. To be fair, most these GA haven’t played for awhile, & for some first time together.

Fitness & understanding was an issue.

    Defense was horrible!

  8. I think atd hit the nail on the head there with Salgado. Looks great on video, but he’s going to have to learn to use his teammates more. That sort of play might work against a youth squad, but in the MLS he’s going to be knocked over sometime between guy 4 to 6. Lucky for him it bounced to his teammate.

Being a Caps fan and having seen him up close and personal both regular season and in the reserves, he does have a tendency to put the blinders on at times. Great skill but still needs some work to take it to the next level.

  9. Impressed that Omar dribbled through half the Ajax reserve team. Less impressed that he needed the Ajax defender to make the final pass for him.

  10. Salgado had a nice run in there, but is looking like Agudelo in that he’s rarely looking upfield for the open man. Still, some nice touches. Could be good in the future. The lack of D is worrisome, even with a cheap goal off the deflection.
