With nearly full slates of action in the Premier League, Serie A and Ligue 1 and domestic cup play on the docket as well, plenty is on the line across Europe today.

A number of Americans are in action across the continent, as Clint Dempsey looks to keep his goal-scoring form going at Craven Cottage against Manchester United, while goalkeepers Tim Howard and Brad Guzan aim for clean sheets against Swansea City and Arsenal, respectively.

Among the games not being televised (but worth stream-hunting for) include Jozy Altidore and AZ Alkmaar going up against Ajax in a Dutch Cup Round of 16 fixture and Michael Bradley's Chievo Verona squaring off with Lazio, both of which kick off at 2:45 p.m.

If you will be watching any of Wednesday's games, please feel free to share any thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below. Enjoy the action (TV schedule is after the jump):

  1. Chievo doesn’t get many fans or goals. They are a mid-table team that needs blank sheets to win. I hope Michael gets onto a better side next season.

  2. Yeah because only players that suck score against Mexico, Spain, Slovenia, Poland and Europa League as well as La Liga and Dutch teams….

If you don’t like him say it, but to say Jozy sucks is pretty harsh and not even close to the actual truth today.

How much did you suck at 22 in ANY sport or at your job?

  3. Even though Chievo could only manage a tie vs Lazio today, they had the better of the match. And MB did almost everything well, with good D, a couple exceptional passes and no mistakes. He should get good player ratings on this game.

  4. You guys realize that if Dempsey has been subject to that early elbow instead of supplying it, you’d be screaming for the head of whoever did it. Instead, it barely gets a mention. Funny how that works…

  5. Fulham’s defense is way too slow and plodding…it’s like watching a Yugo trying to keep up with a race car. Defenders don’t attempt to pick up United players until they are in the penalty area.

On offense, whatever little possession Fulham had was where they used wide space. But they tried to go through the center far too often.

Bryan Ruiz has not yet adjusted to the speed of the EPL — he still takes way too long to get rid of the ball.

    Terrible.

P.S. The play-by-play is irritatingly pro-United. Like they need help in this game.

  6. Chievvo should hava scored by now – they’ve had the best chances by far. They definitely are looking better and more confident going forward than a few weeks ago.

  7. AZ v Ajax game – Fan ran on field and keeper took him down & was kicking him with a vengeance. Keeper gets a red – never saw that before

  8. I haven’t watched Fulham much this season, but it looks to me that Jol is deploying Ruiz wrong, especially in this game. Ruiz is never going to be a defensive winger. He’s an ACM or forward (at least of what I seen of him when he plays for Costa Rica). In Holland, where there’s less defense he might have been able to get away with playing on the wing, but in the EPL I think he’s needs to be playing in centrally, at the very least.

  9. Was hopping LD was playing today with Everton, but I guess that doesnt start until Jan.

HOWEVER….very jazzed about Dempsey vs United. Working from home during the holidays has its perks!
