Some of our U.S fans tend to emphasize too much on height…. I wish more folks would watch Copa Libertadores so they can see that height is not that important in Futbol.
Flores is a beast in both games he has been POTG. I also did my research and Europe already has an eye on him and both Mexico and E.S. have asked about him and invited him to join their program. In regards overall the team its too early too tell. Remember 2013 is when the WC will be. But its a promising start. We finish the tournament playing against powerhouse Brazil so that will be interesting.
if they play like the did against france in the opening 20 minutes of the first half they can prob wooop 90 percent of the college teams out there. I like this group, im not gonna say they are all going to be superstars, theres been plenty that have succeeded at this level then laid an egg in the next, but theres potential in alot of them.
Its all right ives, i recently saw a woman flip out at mcdonalds cause her ice cream was too cold- point and case ppl complain for the sake of complaining- especially online.
I think really good defenders bloom later when they learn more about the game, where as attacking flair is more a god given talent sometimes, defense requires more experience and good coaching.
when i was his age i looked like i escaped from a hobbit convention haha- 5 years could make a difference, someones just gotta get the kid some wheaties and hell grow. But, his control on the ball looks exceptional for his age, and although some can argue soccer has been getting more and more physical and requiring bigger stronger players, so long as hes a smart player, has a good balance on the ball, he will be fine. I liked what i saw, Wesley wade also impressed me, as well as robinson. Credit to Wilmer for doing a great job with this bunch.
Despite the fact that not a single defender looks composed, this class is certainly intriguing. Hopefully, some of that explosive creativity leads to a few interesting prospects.
I’m really enjoying watching this U-17 team. They are gutsy when the opponent has the ball. They use their brains and move nicely when off the ball. For the most part, their passes are sharp and accurate. But most of all, even though there are some standout talents like Flores and Robinson, they play beautifully as a team. Go USA!
growing up yes, but they still finish like a Nats team. a little more composure and concentration on a few of those chances and we win that game by 2-4 goal differential. i’m sure they (as the NT does) work on finishing, but i’m not sure it’s the technical skill that we’re lacking but the knowledge of where to put the ball in those critical split-second situations. hopefully the klinsmann era can start to curb the trend that has seemed to linger around our squads for decades.
I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure I remember Ives tweeting commentary during the game, so I’d say it’s not likely that he didn’t watch the game, more likely that he just made a mistake in writing 1-0 instead of 2-1.
Good to see you guys didnt watch the game. Final score: 2-1, US
(SBI-I did watch the game, and I also set up these highlights to post at 6am, after a LONG night, so you guys could see them. Needless to say I was about to pass out. Cut a guy some slack. Sheesh.
Figures the first guy talking trash here would be someone with a track record of trashing us.)

what is flores? 5 foot 4? 5 foot 5? if he grows 2 to 3 more inches would he be unsuitable?

I wonder how Flores(he’s the short one correct?) will translate to the men’s game. in a few years. He’s sooooooo short.
Of course, a lot can happen in 5 years. He’s 15ish ffs.

second that
Cap Flores
He is quite short in stature.
A very short man, but yeah.
our boys growing up. it brings a tear to my eye.
Herbert “Junior” Flores looks like a man playing with the boys.
Glad to see they’re still at that age where they don’t fall over when breathed upon. That’ll change in the next few years.
