  1. Remember when: This is the guy who came on as a SUBSTITUTE in the 2009 Confederations Cup final. The other team matched it by inserting Jonathan Bornstein into the game…

  2. Before today, I agree with you about Barca being in Real Madrid’s head. But I believe they broke through it in the second half and you will see some great match-ups in league and maybe Champions. While I don’t agree with all the complaining Real Madrid does with the ref, Barca sure seems to catch a lot of breaks.

  3. Isn’t it crazy that one of the best goalkeepers, if not the best, is repeatedly victimized by this one side? Maybe victimized is too strong a word, but I can’t imagine the nightmares Casillas has that involve Barca players.

  4. I’m actually surprised they’re highlighting a goal that wasn’t made in the EPL. SBI finally realizing there are other leagues in the world.

  5. nah, I know it’s not Diarra’s fault – at the time of writing, they were down 2-0 and I childishly felt like making fun of his name.

But you’re right, Barca has the mystique about them now, and you can see that even in this video the way Puyol stands defiantly at the entrance to the tunnel, and doesn’t even move out of the way of the Real players. There’s not even any fire from the players that bump into him – they should be holding their ground, even if it’s the Nou camp.

It’s taken too long – I don’t know how many Clasicos have been played since Mourinho’s been in charge – the players forget what it’s like to win against Barca. When the outcome doesn’t change as often as you’d like, yes, it definitely gets in your head, and requires that sort of retooling.

  6. Its not Diarra, the main issue is that Barca is in their head. Real has enough talent to beat Barcelona, but I believe they are already beaten by the time they step on the field. I don’t think Real believes they can beat Barcelona.

They are going to have to re-tool this team with players who believe they can play with Barcelona and beat them.

  7. Wow, so we get articles about forgeign league before any highlights from the US womens win over Mexico. Womens or not its a huge rivalry for people who follow the teams, not to mention the sheer lack of womens coverage and extensive overseas coverage shows an extreme amount of Sexism

  8. It certainly was a heck of a shot. Reminds me of what Jozy and Jermaine Jones could do if they got their foot square on the ball like Alvez did.

Real’s big problem is that they have a guy on their team named Lasagna Diarrhea, and they are playing like it.
