  1. Weird story involving AZ Alkmaar, which played a friendly against Werder Bremen in Turkey a few days ago with a non-licensed referee using a fake identity. The (not-)ref gave 10 minutes of added time and the game ended with a controversial penalty kick a minute before the final whistle to give Bremen a 2-1 victory. The German news story says there is suspicion of a betting scandal.

  2. BS? Blackburn something???

If you are referring to Adam Henley I’m a bit disappointed, I thought he was a natural left footed player, I did see a bit of hesitation when I saw him play a few weeks back but thought maybe it’s just him starting in his 2nd EPL game at the time from what I remember.

  3. That’s just today tho, he’s been starting for the last 3 or 4 games.

And at that young I say he might be the best possible Left Back considering he’s the only natural Left back out there?

I still think when Lichaj comes back he can play there but he’s not a natural one, Castillo we all know is not ready for it and Chandler is good for now but he is a right footed guy and could be SOOO much better if we have him on the right side to slowly face out Dolo who’s starting to play less for Hannover. I hope they reach out to him

  4. Considering the praise he coach has given him and where he’s playing him, I’d say he is doing what his coach has asked him to do.

He should have had at least one other assist, which would have given them the victory.

  5. LD is everton’s bright spot, but he’s playing passer & supplier only – he just won’t attack the goal. To make a big difference for Everton, he’s gotta go for goal.

  6. Wow, Phil Dowd is having a horror show at Stamford Bridge. He is missing calls left and right, both ways. Just booked Torres for a dive but there was clear contact. He also missed when Bosingwa powered into the back of Bendtner. Just a mess.

  7. Agree – LD and Baines were the best in the first half, but overall everton don’t look inventive or dangerous. But Villa is worse.

  8. We’ll have to see whether AVB is going to successfully implement what he wants to do. Jury is still out for me but I DO think Roman should leave a coach there for a while. Agree?

  9. I was his biggest critic for quite a while because he was utterly invisible and not making the right runs. Now, I find myself defending him even though he’s not scoring.

  10. He has been hands down their best forward, but there is a brick wall in the goal mouth. I’ve never seen someone play so well and not score.

He hits the woodwork at least twice a game when he gets actual minutes, it’s astounding.
