Less than two months ago Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane were combining on a game-winning goal that helped lead the Los Angeles Galaxy to an MLS Cup title. Today, the two will square off on the other side of the planet as Donovan's Everton and Keane's Aston Villa do battle.
Manchester United will look to keep the heat on Manchester City by knocking off Bolton, which is awaiting a work permit for newly-acquired defender Tim Ream.
In Mexico, Jose Torres and Pachuca take on DaMarcus Beasley and Puebla in a battle of U.S. national team midfielders, while Herculez Gomez and Santos Laguna face Atlante.

Weird story involving AZ Alkmaar, which played a friendly against Werder Bremen in Turkey a few days ago with a non-licensed referee using a fake identity. The (not-)ref gave 10 minutes of added time and the game ended with a controversial penalty kick a minute before the final whistle to give Bremen a 2-1 victory. The German news story says there is suspicion of a betting scandal.

BS? Blackburn something???
If you are referring to Adam Henley I’m a bit disappointed, I thought he was a natural left footed player, I did see a bit of hesitation when I saw him play a few weeks back but thought maybe it’s just him starting in his 2nd EPL game at the time from what I remember.
His mom said on BS he’s a natural righty and prefers right.
But he would be great to get, regardless.
Loan for Altidore?
That’s just today tho, he’s been starting for the last 3 or 4 games.
And at that young I say he might be the best possible Left Back considering he’s the only natural Left back out there?
I still think when Lichaj comes back he can play there but he’s not a natural one, Castillo we all know is not ready for it and Chandler is good for now but he is a right footed guy and could be SOOO much better if we have him on the right side to slowly face out Dolo who’s starting to play less for Hannover. I hope they reach out to him
Actually he was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. Hopefully the Volunteer state can provide us with a left back.
Considering the praise he coach has given him and where he’s playing him, I’d say he is doing what his coach has asked him to do.
He should have had at least one other assist, which would have given them the victory.
Just not the way he plays,…it is not his nature.
LMAO dot line dot line my classic face, lol
Hanley wasn’t born in the US, Henley was – and Henley is riding pine
That was his Ghanaian Nats nickname. 🙂
LD is everton’s bright spot, but he’s playing passer & supplier only – he just won’t attack the goal. To make a big difference for Everton, he’s gotta go for goal.
Forget Fulhamerica, US Rangers, etc.
AV has 5 Irish players on the pitch now.
We really need to cap Hanley. Him and Chandler on the wings would be dominant.
LOL
Never heard Essien called that before.
Keane is about to come on. Donovan is everywhere right now, playing very well.
And The Bison has returned for Chelsea. The sun shines a bit more brightly at the Bridge.
Not sure how he figured that was a dive, clearly got hit.
yea, espn confirms that was Donovan with the killer through ball from distance to put anichebe 1 v 1 with the keeper.
Wow, Phil Dowd is having a horror show at Stamford Bridge. He is missing calls left and right, both ways. Just booked Torres for a dive but there was clear contact. He also missed when Bosingwa powered into the back of Bendtner. Just a mess.
Donovan with nice run and assist to Amechebe
I think so… my feed is garbage, and the announcers didn’t mention him once after the fact.
was that Donovan with the SICK assist? tied at 1-1
I agree. Donovan looks good but Everton, in general, looks pretty lifeless. They need better everything.
Everton need someone to put the ball in the net. Landon must go for goal more often than usual to help this year’s side.

seriously… how are people watching this..
It is a revolving door position, no question. Never should have let Guus go.
any streams?
How’s dempsey and fulham doing?
Agree – LD and Baines were the best in the first half, but overall everton don’t look inventive or dangerous. But Villa is worse.
Of the first half, LD was the liveliest Everton player going forward. But really the team doesn’t look very good at all.
We’ll have to see whether AVB is going to successfully implement what he wants to do. Jury is still out for me but I DO think Roman should leave a coach there for a while. Agree?
Yeah, his run of poor form ended awhile back. He’s merely become a scapegoat for AVB’s incompetencies.
I was his biggest critic for quite a while because he was utterly invisible and not making the right runs. Now, I find myself defending him even though he’s not scoring.
how are you guys watching this?
He has been hands down their best forward, but there is a brick wall in the goal mouth. I’ve never seen someone play so well and not score.
He hits the woodwork at least twice a game when he gets actual minutes, it’s astounding.
Dangerous cross from Donovan, and Saha does nothing with it.
AARGH donovan with an awesome run and cross but saha flubs the header.
Wow, when Torres is involved, whether scoring or just making runs and shooting, Chelsea is so much more dangerous. He is actually playing well right now.
LD’s already having some good touches and runs.
whos got the feeds hookup… let me score one.
Given is back and Guzan is on the bench 🙁
I hope he moves to get a (full-time) starting gig soon
Bocanegra with an own goal for the ‘Gers today -__-
