Thierry Henry has already made a dramatic return to Arsenal, but today he will have his chance to try and top his game-winning FA Cup goal against Leeds by scoring in his first English Premier League match of his comeback.
The Gunners take on Swansea City in what should be an entertaining encounter, and could bring us Henry's first start since coming back to Arsenal.
The match of the day brings us to Italy, where arch-rivals Inter and AC Milan clash in the Milan Derby. In France, Marseille takes on Lille in another entertaining encounter.

Yeah. I’ll speculate that a goal would be good or bad depending on which side scores. Looking at first half possession, I’d like Inter to score since (AC) Milan has had more opportunities and seem inclined to press the action (at least somewhat). Of course, this could very well be spurious reasoning.

Even though there is a bucket of talent on the field, this is still so….Seria A. It’s intense and all as the big derby but damn these teams play conservatively.

There’s certainly been debate about MB’s play on this site (likely always will be) but one thing I think is an accomplishment is Chievo currently sitting in 10th place with half season in the books. My take from occassionally seeing him play and various comments on this site is that he is playing well within the scheme and that the squad simply doesn’t have the personnel (i.e., talent) to take it to teams week in and out. Of course, my synopsis is based on limited data so hopefully he continues to be a starter and shows well within the overall scheme and approach.
Yah that could be it as well, coming back from injuries could be tough. And you’re right in saying he’s not really a RB but it’s all good they’re both still young

Gatt isn’t really a RB, and would be extremely offensive minded one if he was. He also has just gotten back from injury, and isn’t quite in form.
Regardless, great to hear Shea is excelling, was a little scared of a flash in the pan season.

Arsenal are a disgrace and Wenger’s player selection continues to baffle. Arshavin hasn’t produced a solid outing in over a year and he continues to get selected. ZERO effort and zero heart. Ramsey was an absolute donkey as well. Just a gutless effort all around.
Off topic a bit but apparently Brek Shea schooled Josh Gatt in the USMNT vs U-23’s scrimmage. That said, it could also be because Josh was playing with the U-23’s and had little help. Gatt was playing RB

How many times can Ramsey give away the ball in the second half? The announcers were savaging Arshavin (and he wasn’t good) but are giving Ramsey a pass. 3-4 give aways in his own half. All led to chances and one to a goal. He’s just lost out there.
Bad to hear but hopefully its just a bruise and he needs only a game or two to recover.
MB also had a very good strike on target from outside the box parried away by a great save from the GK.
thanks, Nate. I don’t much care about Chievo although since MB is there, I’ve seen a few games and they are sort of spunky if utterly inept in attack. I guess today, playing at home, they got to attack a bit more.

Watched almost the whole game. Was surprised that Chievo attacked that much; I had heard they pretty much always defended.
MB pretty much played the same as he usually does for the USA; linked defense to offense, and was solid. One mistake in his own box led to a great chance for Palermo, but he had some bright moments as well.
In case you actually care about Chievo and not just MB (I don’t), I guess they did pretty well–lots of possession, a few good chances, and a fairly simple win.
When you are the Zeus of football, i guess its okay.

Watching Juve on ESPN3…they have really returned to the top after their problems of a few years ago. Very solid team right now with a LOT of offensive creativity, especially for Seria A.
Chievo could really use the home win today vs. mid-table competition. MB got run ragged by Roma, didn’t play poorly, but nobody on Chievo showed well.
Cheivo looking bright with lots of opportunities in the early going – and MB in the middle of most doing the distribution
