Landon Donovan's return to Everton is the story of the day in American soccer, and he'll look to make an immediate impact when the Toffees host Bolton at Goodison Park. Donovan has secured a place in the starting lineup, as has goalkeeping stalwart Tim Howard, who is making his 250th Premier League appearance.

The other Premier League match of the day contains major table implications as well, as Manchester United aims to keep pace with Manchester City. In order to do so, the Red Devils will have to top a hungry Newcastle side that is seeing its one-time grasp on a place in the top tier of the league table slipping away.

Elsewhere in the world, a Messi-less Barcelona will look to take a step toward the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey with its Round of 16 first-leg match against Osasuna.

Here is the viewing schedule for the day's matches:

3 p.m. – Fox Soccer Plus/FoxSoccer.tv – Everton vs. Bolton

3 p.m. – Fox Soccer Channel – Newcastle vs. Manchester United

4 p.m. – ESPN3.com/ESPN Deportes – Barcelona vs. Osasuna

  1. I’m sure he was a little tired in the 2nd half. This was his first game after a winter break. Its not normal to go a full 90 in your first game.

  2. The entire Everton team was terrible for the last 20+ minutes, btw, not just Donovan.

Good to see he is starting already thougH!

  3. Sad 2nd half for Everton. LD had few touches with the ball stuck on the left side. But overall, LD looked good. And with all of everton’s injury’s today, he may be more important in the next few weeks.

  4. Everton with a crazy last minute, but can’t get it done. Baines slammed a free kick off the bar, the scramble gives Everton a few other hacks, the ball falls to Donovan… but his cross is crap. They get one more chance with a corner, but it’s overhit and the whistle is blown, 2-1 Bolton.

  5. In all fairness, Bolton has been clinical, and need the 3 points MUCH more than Everton. I don’t want Stuey Holden to be playing Championship ball when he’s 100% again

  6. 83rd, Bolton applying more pressure. Despite Tim Howard’s heroics, Bolton definitely better on the day.

The excellent Men In Blazers point out that Tim Howard now just a goal behind Andy Carroll and Fernando Torres on the season…
