Wednesday Ticker: Seattle gets Sivebaek, Chivas USA lands Bolanos and more

The Seattle Sounders have acquired Danish midfielder Christian Sivebaek following his transfer from FC Midtjylland, the Sounders announced on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old midfielder arrives in Seattle after playing for Midtjylland since 2006. He played in 80 league matches and tallied six goals for the Danish club during his time there. Sivebaek, who has represented Denmark at various youth levels, can also play right back.

Per club and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CHIVAS USA SIGNS BOLANOS

Chivas USA has added attacking midfielder/winger Miller Bolanos from Ecuadorian club LDU Quito. The 21-year-old Bolanos joins the Goats after making 93 appearances and scoring 22 goals for LDU Quito, which he signed with in August 2009. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

TERRY PLAYS DOWN INJURY TALK

If John Terry was injured during Chelsea's FA Cup match against Portsmouth this past weekend, he is not admitting it.

Having appeared to hurt his right knee after colliding with the post while making a goal-line clearance last Sunday, Terry has downplayed fears over him possibly missing this weekend's match against Sunderland. Terry admitted that his knee is swollen, but that it should be good to go when Chelsea continues its attempt to get back in the Premiership race on Saturday against the Black Cats.

USL PRO RELEASES SEASON SCHEDULE

The 11-team USL Pro unveiled its 2012 season schedule on Wednesday, and the season will kick off on April 6 when the Pittsburgh Riverhounds visit Antigua Barracuda FC. Orlando City FC begins their title defense a day later on the road against the Charlotte Eagles. In total, the regular season, which ends on August 19, will consist of 132 games.

  1. nevermind what I said I guess it was called off, they were showing highlights of it, and I knew the score was 2-0 before, so I just assumed, guess I shouldn’t of
