The way everyone is talking you all are taking way too much from what is basically a chopped up highlight reel.
It’s like awarding a movie the Oscar for best picture based on the trailers.
And the Maccabiah games, too.
Benny’s probably most deserving. Vet of 1 WC, 2 GCs, ’08 Olympics, and probably has the most caps from this group.
F: Wondo, Sapong
CAM: Feilhaber
CM: Zusi, Jones
CDM: Larentowicz
D: Pearce, Cameron, Parkhurst, Loyd
G: Rimando
3 of 4 goal scorers still there. Maybe 3-1 instead of 4-0.
Disagree. He blew a couple of good chances in the GC for sure, but he put himself in excellent positions the whole time. He should have had 2 goals, and since that concluded he went on to have an excellent (personal) season with SJ.
Why is it that Dempsey can get a pass for that 18 month+ spell of abysmal play where it reached a point where people were calling him lazy, useless, show-off (remember that turnover in WCQ against honduras in midfield that led to a goal after Dempsey wanted to show his “footwork”), yet Wondo is being written off for a subpar 2-3 games in the Gold Cup???
Wondo needs more games to prove himself and coaches like Bradley AND Klinnsman know this too.
Wondo can do this against US U-23 but not in international play. He has shown in his past appearances that he simply isn’t up to the speed of the game and his loss of composure shows.
Y’all are reading way too much into a scrimmage.
does anyone know what time the u23 vs senior team scrimmage is at tomorrow???
