The 2012 European Championship commences exactly four months from today, and England is looking for a new manager.

In a monumental development, Fabio Capello resigned from the helm of the English national team on Wednedsay. Capello had been public in his defense of John Terry after the FA stripped the Chelsea centerback of his international captaincy amid his involvement in a racial abuse scandal. Capello met with the FA on Wednesday for more than an hour before issuing his resignation, according to an FA statement.

"I would like to stress that during today’s meeting and throughout his time as England manager, Fabio has conducted himself in an extremely professional manner," FA chairman David Bernstein said in the statement. "We have accepted Fabio’s resignation, agreeing this is the right decision. We would like to thank Fabio for his work with the England team and wish him every success in the future."

Capello had been England's manager since 2008. Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has been widely speculated to emerge as Capello's successor, although reports from England suggest that England Under-21 and Team Great Britain Olympic coach Stuart Pearce will be manning the sidelines in the interim for England's friendly with the Netherlands on Feb. 29.

  2. All true Johnny but on the other hand how many countries have ever won a World Cup?

    It’s not a lot.

How many World Cups has Holland won?

And you should have said “before England wins another one”.

  3. The most disgusting I saw was when chelsea fans were booing Rio Ferdinand at the chelsea Man U game….When you play professional soccer and captain an elite team, and make more money than some of the best doctors in the world make, You must conduct a proper attitude on an off the pitch. I used to hold Terry in high esteem- he should be banned from soccer to serve as a precedent.
