The pieces are in place for it to be the weekend of the landmark appearance for Americans across Europe.

After Tim Ream was named to Bolton's matchday roster and Charlie Davies was named to Sochaux's, West Ham announced that centerback George John will be part of the 20-man traveling party for the club's match at Peterborough United on Saturday. That in itself does not guarantee playing time, but it is a step in the right direction for a player in need of minutes to make his mark in the coming weeks.

John has yet to make his first-team debut with West Ham since joining the club on loan from FC Dallas. Time is ticking away on that loan, which is set to expire March 5, at which point West Ham has an option to purchase John's contract outright. The math is simple: the more opportunities John has to perform before that deadline, the more of a sampling West Ham has to work with before determining whether to go ahead with a full transfer.

Hope to see John complete his transfer to West Ham? Which potential appearance this weekend are you anticipating the most?
