Soccer Sunday: Your Running Commentary

Promotion candidates across the second, third and fourth tiers of English soccer will look to spring some surprises on Sunday, as the fifth round of the FA Cup continues.

League Two side Crawley Town gets a crack at Stoke City; League One club Stevenage, coached by former Colorado Rapids manager Gary Smith, will look to topple Tottenham; and League Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion gets a crack at bringing down Liverpool with places in the quarterfinals on the line.

Sunday's match with perhaps the most on the line, though, takes place in Paris, where PSG and Montpellier do battle with first place in Ligue 1 up for grabs. Big-spending PSG is nursing a one-point edge over Montpellier and will look to put some distance between the two, who are both comfortably in front of third-place Lille.

For those in search of their Barcelona fix, the Spanish giants clash with Valencia in a meeting of two top-three teams in Spain. Both are well behind league leaders Real Madrid, but maintaining their positions for a place in next year's UEFA Champions League group stage is still on the docket.

If you will be watching any of Sunday's matches, please feel free to share any thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments section below. Enjoy the action (TV schedule is after the jump):

  1. Super Messi. Pele is wrong. Messi doesn’t need to prove himself with Argentina. Argentina needs to prove they belong with him.

Tello will be first choice over Pedro very soon. Super quick, makes space out of nothing.

  2. Not even close. He was a key contributor for BMG and started almost every game. BMG was in a relegation battle and Bradley clashed with his coach, prompting his coach to bench him. Bradley didnt like that so he wanted out. There were teams interested in him but BMG put his price tag abnormally high, so he went to Aston Villa on loan (an upgrade at the time). He never got a chance at Aston Villa even though their midfield was garbage. Aston Villa didnt want to pay the price BMG valued so Bradley returned to the club with a new coach. The new coach wasnt happy Bradley left in the middle of relegation battle so he benched Bradley upon return add that to the fact Bradley was mad at his price tag and that a teammate of his slept with his girl friend he was transfered

  3. Yup…because if it was the n-word, people would still think it’s a hyperbole :/. If you’ve ever been called a chink in your lifetime followed by them telling you to leave their restaurant or having spit flung your way like I have in Seattle, you wouldn’t call it a hyperbole. Get off your anti-PC, “let’s stop being so sensitive” soap box and realize that people can be racist, intentional or not.
