For two veteran Americans plying their trade in Mexico, this weekend saw them boost their chances of getting called in for the U.S. men's national team's friendlies and World Cup qualifiers this summer.

DaMarcus Beasley and Herculez Gomez scored in their team's respective games this weekend. Beasley rescued Puebla from defeat, netting the equalizer in the club's 1-1 draw with Cruz Azul. The goal, which came on a lunging left-footed effort, was Beasley's fourth of the season.

Gomez continued his run of games with a goal by capping the scoring with a beautiful header off a corner kick in Santos Laguna's 2-0 win against Queretaro. Gomez has now scored in six straight games across all competitions. He has eight goals during that stretch.

Two other Americans also found the back of the net. Michael Parkhurst scored his first goal in four years for FC Nordsjaelland, knocking in the winner in the club's 2-0 victory versus Horsens, while Josh Gatt scored a winner of his own in Molde FK's season-opening 2-1 triumph over Stromsgodset.
