Out goes one defender and in comes another for Toronto FC.

Just days after agreeing to part ways with centerback Geovanny Caicedo, Toronto signed defender Logan Emory. The 24-year-old Emory, who last played for the Puerto Rico Islanders, joined Toronto FC on trial during the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic in Orlando this past offseason.

Emory spent the first two years of his professional career with the Islanders before leaving the club after the 2011 NASL season. He played for the University of Portland prior to turning pro in 2010 and played for the Portland Timbers U-23 team in 2009.

As per team and league rules, teams of the deal were not disclosed.

What do you think of Toronto's decision to sign Emory? Expect him to play an active role with the club this season?

  1. I don’t think anyone said he was crap, just not a lot known about him. He must have impressed in Orlando to be signed that quickly.

  2. no clue at all. think people are jumping the gun on this one to say hes crap right off the bat. I am a little suspicious about the signing however he did ok in the preseason (which we all know means nothing)
