Barcelona and AC Milan met twice in the UEFA Champions League group stage, and they'll treat soccer fans to two more matchups starting with their opening leg of their UCL quarterfinals at the San Siro.

Barcelona rolled through the Round of 16 behind the goalscoring exploits of Lionel Messi. Their run of form clashes with MIlan's, most notably that of former Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who as eight goals in his last seven matches across all club competitions.

In the day's other quarterfinal match, Franck Ribery goes up against his former club as Bayern Munich looks to continue their high-scoring ways against Marseille. The French side is struggling domestically and has not won in its last eight matches across all competitions but will be looking to hold serve at home after eliminating Inter Milan in the previous round.

  1. Well that’s how you stop Barcelona.

Get away with a blatant penalty, foul the hell out of Messi, and play with 10 men behind the ball.

  2. yeah really. Imagine, Barça fans complaining about the refereeing. How about Xavi dives a few times to retaliate??

  3. Given Italy’s history of bribing officials and fixing matches, when a penalty like that Ia ignored it really makes you question the integrity of the match.

  4. Blatant penalty not given to Barcelona. Blatant. Keeper just missed the ball entirely and wiped out Sanchez who was in on goal.

Really inexcusable that the referee behind the line wouldn’t call that.

  5. Robinho botches a glorious opportunity. It would have been a tough volley, but for someone with Robinho’s skill set you’d expect for him to put it on frame.
