As all American soccer fans are aware, Clint Dempsey is enjoying what is arguably the best season ever for an American player in Europe (or anywhere else for that matter). His 22 goals in all competitions have made him a transfer target for big clubs and has put him in the rarified air of goal scorers such as Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.
To help you get a sense of just how a great a year he's having, here are all 22 of Dempsey's goals this season:
I was there at Craven Cottage for the goal against QPR about the 1 min mark. It was a dream come true to be able to see my first EPL match and my favorite American score in the midst of the greatest season by an USMNT player.
Amazing, and although I want him to go to Champions League games, I’d be kind of sad to see him leave Fulham. The team embraces this guy and the fans love him to.
Well, as a Liverpool supporter I can say this has been Pepe’s worst year. In years previous he has been phenomenal, and he has three Premier League Golden Gloves so there’s a few things behind his high regard.
It’s interesting to watch the celebrations. It looks like Murphy is always in there hugging Dempsey or they are seeking one another. And to top it off the interview at the end. They must have formed a decent friendship/mentorship
Some good Bryan Ruiz moments in there too, disappointed he’s done for the year. Also, does Dempsey torment Chelsea or Liverpool more?
I’m rooting for Arse as Dempsey’s next home, his toughness and poacher instincts would do them good, and he’s proven he can thrive in slick passing attacks. Chelsea would be weird because I’m so used to rooting against them, but it would be funny to see him take all of Lampard’s minutes, and he could score some goals with Juan Mata running the show.
1) What is that Gold kit they wore against Newcastle? Never seen that before.
2) How is Pepe Reina ahead of Spain’s incredible wealth of other keepers? I always hear people say how good he is and he seems talented, but I can think of at least 5 occasions this year where he has just made absolutely terrible blunders. Valdes has to be ahead of him, surely?
He scores with his left and he scores with his right. He is awesome in the air, as good (or even better?) as McBride was. He is great on the run with and without the ball. He can bury the free kick. Is he the complete goal scoring package?
The thing I like the most, though? He works as hard as a one-legged man at an a$$ kicking contest. There were at least 3 goals in this montage where he was prowling near goal after someone else took a shot. The goal against Norwich is a good example: his teammate takes the shot and Deuce keeps running towards goal after his defender stops. Result? Another Dempsey goal.
I had been in the Donovan corner for a long time… but for best current US player, there is only one answer any more. Between last year and this year, he’s on another level.

Youre dreaming, Lampard is a legend at Chelsea, he is indispensable for them. Clint would be carrying his boots

Fair enough, but when your back-up is Victor Valdes, seems like you have a pretty fine margin for error….

agreed. I thought the same thing… even before the interview at the end.
This Video just makes me wish there was a world cup qualifier this month
Incredible! He never misses!
Ah, the power of the music video
Clint has to be worth between 10-12 million pounds. Most expensive American player ever and arguably going to stay that way for a decade.

Agreed, the USMNT tumble down the rankings has suspiciously coincided with the inability to keep those two in the line up together.

After Casillas*
Agreed. By staying in a tougher league, Clint has continued to challenge himself and we are seeing that pay off in goals.

Awesome video.

awesomeness
great interview at the end from Murphy too
awesome
in 10-30 years a lot of our young players will state how Dempsey inspired them or how he changed the game forever for US players abroad
6 games left. Could he cross 20 league goals? Certaintly possible
Keep them coming Deuce!
An American hero
Great video! Deuce is such a beast… can’t wait to see him and LD finally on the field together for the Nats this summer!
If he keeps up this form until the WC, dare I dream of him scoring goals to get us to the WC semi-final, *drools*
This is dope. Thanks for posting. Keep killing it deuce.
simply awesome, I hope he stays injury free and gives us at least 5 more years of the grit and finesse that makes him Clint.
He Films The Clouds Part 2 is such an awesome song.
I like that they included the keeper own goal and Murphy cutting off an overly modest Clint at the end…..
