It is turning into a landmark day for U.S. youth internationals.
On the heels of Joe Gyau signing a three-year deal with Hoffenheim, Josh Gatt has signed a three-year deal with Norwegian club Molde FK, extending his stay with the club through 2015.
Gatt, 20, has played all 270 minutes for Molde in the early going this season, including a highlight-reel goal in the club's season-opening victory. Gatt broke out as a key contributor both on the right wing and as a right back last season for Molde, which won the Norwegian championship and will compete in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round this summer as well.

A statement like this kinda shows a lack of understanding about the game. The feint to the right to freeze the defender is not something that you can teach. And if you want more highlights, go and You Tube him and see the goals he scored last year. His goal against Start was voted on Yanks Abroad as American’s abroad goal of the year last year. But yeah, he really did nothing on this particular goal. It was all just crappy defense. Hilarious.

You think he looks good in that highlight? Other than running with the ball unchallenged until he was well inside the penalty box, he didn’t seem to do much. The sloppy defending allowed him to score, not his skills. I’ll need to see several more highlight reels before I agree with you.
If Gatt is as good as he looks on those highlights, then you can be sure Man Utd have been tracking him via
Solskjaer’s connection.
They’ll want to keep him for the first part of their CL run, and if he plays out the season with Molde, he could move elsewhere in Europe during the winter window.
In response to a question about whether Messi might be the best player ever, Pele recently said that first Messi had to become better than Neymar, adding that Messi just had more experience.
long tym
I think both parties see it as a Win-Win.
Gatt gets more money, club raises potential transfer fee.
I personally think he’ll be there for another full year.
wait im blind what’s going on??
I saw what you did there.
You think he’s on the way out?
This contract has nothing to do with Gatt staying at Molde longer. Players that have potential transfer value typically re-sign contracts for a few reasons. If you get injured, you still get paid and you get more money right away. In return, if you do leave, the club gets a transfer fee.
Gatt is already better than Messi, just less experienced.
It sure would have been nice to have seen him with the Olympic team for qualifying.
Pfft…should have signed with Barca, TBQH.
Playing regularly, and some champions league football, def seems like a good choice.
I think Molde is wanting to raise to transfer fee asking price.
He has already seen some interest form some English Premier League clubs. Him and Molde being in the Champions League will further showcase his abailities to more teams. But yes I think this is a very good move for him. Stay in Norway 1 to 3 more years, and Molde gets to put a good transfer fee on him if he leaves before his contract is up. I think he should get called up for the May camp.
4/5, would laugh again
Gatt willing.
Good move. Couple more years prepping for A move to a bigger league is not a bad thing for a 20 year old.
