Things just have not gone the way of the Los Angeles Galaxy these past few days. Not even in the MLS Reserve League.

Chivas USA's reserves topped the Los Angeles Galaxy reserves convincingly on Monday afternoon, winning 4-2 at Field 1 of the Home Depot Center. Cesar Romero led the way for the Goats, scoring a second-half hat-trick in the match. Miller Bolanos added the other goal for Chivas USA while Chad Barrett bagged a brace in a match that was scoreless at halftime.

The game was both Chivas USA and the Galaxy's first reserve fixture of the year.

Here are more results from the MLS Reserve League:

The Colorado Rapids rode a brace from forward Andre Akpan to a 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Monday. The win was the first for the Rapids reserves this season, as they now stand at 1-2 on the year. Federico Puppo scored for the Fire, now 1-1, in a game that saw all three goals come off rebounds.

A day after the New York Red Bulls defeated the Montreal Impact, their respective reserves faced off in a match on Sunday at Montclair State University that had a similar result. Like the day before, the Red Bulls claimed the three points at the expense of the Impact on goals from Jhonny Arteaga, Tyler Ruthven and Victor Palsson. Miguel Montano scored the lone goal for the visitors. The match, the Red Bulls' first reserve game of the year, dropped the Impact to 1-1 on the season.

The Columbus Crew and Toronto FC saw their reserves square off a day after the Crew's first team defeated Toronto's, and the result was no different. Playing at BMO Field hours after the Crew claimed a 1-0 victory, Columbus' reserves managed to defeat the hosts by the same scoreline. Ethan Finlay scored the goal in a match that marked the return of Adrian Cann for Toronto FC.

Columbus is now 1-1 on the season, while Toronto FC is 0-1.

What do you think of Chivas USA reserves topping the Galaxy reserves? Think Akpan will start to see more time with the Rapids? Hoping the Impact win a game soon for team morale?
