Jeff Larentowicz is not going anywhere anytime soon.

The Colorado Rapids made sure of that by locking up the integral central midfielder to a multi-year deal on Friday, the terms of which were not disclosed.

Larentowicz has had success ever since joining the Rapids ahead of the 2010 season. He won an MLS Cup with the club in his first season in Colorado and has been called into three consecutive U.S. men's national team January camps, collecting four caps. During this past offseason, he spent time training with Bolton before returning to Colorado for his third season as a member of the Rapids.

While proving himself to be one of the premiere defensive midfielders in the league, Larentowicz has started all but one of the 70 games in which he's played for Colorado.

"We needed his strong play and leadership to win MLS Cup, and the United States National Team has also seen his value," Rapids technical director Paul Bravo said in a team release. "We’re thrilled that he’ll continue in our midfield for years to come."

Happy to see Larentowicz stay in Colorado?
