Scotland manager Craig Levein has released the 22-man roster he will bring state-side for a friendly against the U.S. men's national team at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla., on May 26.

Assuming he is part of the U.S. roster, Maurice Edu will have a good deal of familiarity with Scotland's side, considering it includes three current Rangers players and former Rangers standout striker Kenny Miller.

Here is Scotland's squad for the match:

GOALKEEPERS: Matt Gilks (Blackpool), Craig Gordon (Sunderland), Allan McGregor (Rangers)

DEFENDERS: Phil Bardsley (Sunderland), Christophe Berra (Wolverhampton), Gary Caldwell (Wigan Athletic), Russell Martin (Norwich City), Charlie Mulgrew (Celtic), Lee Wallace (Rangers), Andy Webster (Heart of Midlothian), Steven Whittaker (Rangers)

MIDFIELDERS: Barry Bannan (Aston Villa), Scott Brown (Celtic), Craig Bryson (Derby County), Don Cowie (Cardiff City), Shaun Maloney (Wigan Athletic), James McArthur (Wigan Athletic), Matt Phillips (Blackpool)

FORWARDS: David Goodwillie (Blackburn), Craig Mackail-Smith (Brighton & Hove), Kenny Miller (Cardiff City), Johnny Russell (Dundee United)

  1. Not so sure about that. The EPL players are from teams that finished no higher than Norwich City. None scored many goals. No real stars or star potential that I see. OTOH, solid professionals who will likely be well-organized and hard to break-down.

  2. Anyone with a standard cable package (above just basic cable with local stations) can get this game, unless you live in BFE and have some strange, unheard of provider.

  3. you mean like ABC, NBC, FOX or CBS? because NBC Sports is available to anyone with ESPN. at least if you are a FIOS, Xfinity or Cox customer in the DC Metro region. i can’t imagine it’s much different from other cities. it’s not like FSC or GolTV where you have to buy a sports package to get it.

  4. Who does that now? ESPN doesn’t, as far as I can tell. Fox Soccer doesn’t. Which network are you referring to?

  5. Wow pretty heavy EPL filled squad. I would not have thought that considering their fifa ranking. It should be a good test.

  6. I hope Barry Bannan gets a starting nod. Incredible skill on the ball, the wee lad.

I’d have liked a chance to see Steven Naismith (injured), Charlie Adam, Darren Fletcher, and Danny Wilson… oh well.

  7. …on the other hand, at least NBC Sports won’t have commentators comparing soccer to basketball, volleyball or whatever sport network execs think will translate to the lowly American audience.

  8. Too bad this game isn’t going to be on a channel where casual fans, or even many hardcore ones, can watch it. It is one of the many ones on NBCSports, right?

  9. This is a great squad and a good test of USMNT, at least on paper. If we get a solid result it will tell us quite a lot about where our current pool is (provided it’s an A-side call up). Come On You Red White and Blues….

    Yeah, about a nickname?
