Matches all across North and South America highlight the Wednesday evening slate to cap a busy day of soccer worldwide. In MLS, the Houston Dynamo complete their season-opening, seven-game road trip at Red Bull Arena, facing a rejuvenated New York Red Bulls side that has overcome injuries and adversity to the tune of consecutive clean-sheet victories (SBI will have matchnight commentary from Red Bull Arena, so keep an eye out for that as well). In Chicago, the Fire will look to top a Nick Rimando-less Real Salt Lake, while Seattle aims to keep its run of form going against severely short-handed FC Dallas.
In Canada, Toronto FC need a win over the Montreal Impact to avoid being eliminated from the Canadian championship and suffering yet another embarrassment in what has become a nightmare season. The Vancouver Whitecaps are in good shape to take one spot in the tournament final, nursing a 2-0 lead over FC Edmonton heading into the return leg.
The Copa Libertadores quarterfinals and Mexican liguilla also continue, with matches carrying title implications going on in Chile, Brazil and Mexico.

Ives we know you love NY but how about a little write up about RSL? Nothing last week and so far nothing about last night.
Seattle win the three with 2 nice goals by Montero. Dallas defender #13 beaten badly on both goals. Cato who subbed in for Estrada gets a nice assist. Sounders look like the top MLS side right now with Montero finding his form, EJ making nice runs, Rosales back on the wing, and El Flaco and Zak still rehabbing. If they take three from RSL on Saturday, they’ll be difficult to catch.
This RSL/Fire joint broadcast is really bizarre.
Blackpool all the way. The style of play is very entertaining, great work rate and no ego driven players. They have good blue collar players they play with passion.

Curious to see who my Dynamo field for this match. Obviously the First XI need to be fresh for the home opener on Saturday, and we haven’t seen a ton of depth players get minutes this year.
That said, scheduling screwed Houston. They’ve already had 3 weeks off and now they have 4 games in 11 days. Honestly, I think the breaks were probably disruptive.
