  1. “You don’t send off the lone price of admission player.”

This is one of the most absurd soccer related comments I’ve ever heard. The rules aren’t different for different players.

  2. But you know what they say, great teams find ways to win even when they don’t play well. Not saying NY is a great team, but…

  3. He is looking lazy and sloppy. He is just not putting the effort in to sharpen up his game and is too arrogant to notice that everyone thinks he looks like a clown on the pitch.

  4. 4 awful games – 12 points. I think that tells us more about the other teams than about RB. This high backline + poor possession not ending the attacks and losing the ball = getting killed by hoofing teams.

  5. Some excellent individual performances from NY… Meara, Cooper in particular.

I think the Red Bulls are this year’s Columbus, though. They have eked out a lot of ugly wins and had a good measure of luck. The cracks are going to show and there is going to be a hard fall, even if it occurs in the 1st round of the playoffs.

The list of Eastern teams that are going to have their number is growing weekly.

  6. Another solid outing for Meara. He is a looking a much better prospect than Zac McGaffe. Not sure why McMath gets all the hype.

  7. Is there something wrong with Richards? This is the third or fourth time that I have seen NYRB this season and he looks remarkablely less dangerous than he has in the past.

Also, what do Philly fans think of Daniel? Was this a particularly poor showing from him or was this representative of what he has to offer?

  8. I was thinking the same thing. He has been terrible in decision making and marking, and not at all because he has aged and lost a step. Hs temper makes himalliability as well.

  9. How did Rafa Marquez ever get in Barca’s starting lineup? Of course, the team has done much better since they let him go.

  10. God, that was a red-cardable dive?! I agree it was probably a dive, but I feel pretty strongly that the standard of proof should be higher when a player is sitting on a yellow, and even more so when that player is worth watching.

God help us when the league is losing its artists, and filling up with more Jesse Marsch coaches, and Brian Carroll type players.

Let’s remember – we are still at the stage that next to no one is watching on TV.

  11. I dont think that was a second yellow for Adu: there was no embellishment, no play acting, no exaggeration, no looking for a PK. It was just as likely he lost his balance as it was he dived.

  12. #MLSReffing got this one right. Dives in the box are unacceptable and tarnish the game. This was a dive in the box.

No questions on his first yellow either.

  13. C’mon referee. In the 2 steps forward, 2 steps back dance that is MLS, why do the refs always have to be part of the 2 steps back. You don’t send off the lone price of admission player.

  14. Taylor and Adrienne saying “no call, let them play.” Seemed like a pretty blatant dive to me. Pulled the foot back like there was contact and went straight to the ground.

  15. Wow, Freddy Adu sent off for a dive in the box and his second yellow. Right call.

In other news, and I’ve seen other people say they get these same ads quite randomly on this site…I always get ads for the random ethnicity dating sites (brazilian cupids! thai cupids! etc). But this one is definitely a first… “Sign up now for muslimania! International Muslim matrimonies!”

  16. Yeah, it doesn’t make much sense at all.

You want Adu closer to the net, he’s got a heck of a shot and distributes.

  17. Both of these formations don’t make much sense. Ballouchy at forward?? god help us. And don’t get me started on why Philly keeps refusing to play Adu in the middle attacking role.

  18. What kind of lineup is that? Adu has a wide forward?

Adu has a lot of skills and strengths, but winger speed is not one of them. He needs to be sitting in the middle.
